The Watercooler : Describe your day.

Describe your day.

Got up at 6, tea, breakfast, shower, dressed. Saw grandchildren, went to work, made picnic for 10 kids, Curry, Rice and naan for 30 kids and 6 adults, lemon sponge for pudding! Also made 20 gingerbread men for end of term celebration. Home, coffee, snooze, huge walk on beach, tide was out, took photos of jellyfish and collected Sea urchin shells. Then collected Pizza, home, shower, dinner outside with cocktail, played with cats, washed up, watched stupid TV whilst drinking Cava. Now in bed, winding Orson up and reading Filmboards.

Re: Describe your day.

I went to the doctor and got some tests.
I went out yesterday for another appointment.
I wanted to watch the Olympics ceremony tonight, but I've been trying to relax while having these appointments and so may just lie in bed on the computer and fall asleep, to go out tomorrow to the gym and to Wal-Mart to get groceries, using the bus … do a floor workout at home, practice violin, learn German, and if possible catch some of the Olympics, at least online, no cable in my bedroom in the group home. I wanted to see the opening ceremony of the Olympics but may wind down from these past days with appointments, though I did mainly try to sleep to make sure I was not tired for them. Too bad my day is taken up with eating meals at certain times and using the bus for awhile, I need to get on a schedule that includes lots of violin and German. I still get tired on pills and need more sleep and rest. Hopefully, I can get off them, eventually and some soon. Olympic ceremony or bed?

Re: Describe your day.

In the place I was getting my pizza, people were invited to write on the walls, there were a lot of quotes and nonsense as you can imagine but I saw something interesting and I've just tried to look it up, the closest I can find is this
“It is better to take many small steps in the right direction than to make a great leap forward only to stumble backward.”

It makes me think of you. You're making these tiny steps like seeing your doctor and having tests. Ultimately it could mean really good things, you just need to be patient.

Being tired all of the time must be awful, but hopefully one day soon you can get to the point where your medication doesn't tire you out.

So what you're doing right now, by staying where you are, is helping you find stability. You have a doctor, a roof over your head, you're safe, you're fed and maybe you don't have cable or might miss the opening ceremony, but you can watch it later. You can do this.

Being safe, having a home and food is something a lot of people dream of. I know you don't have your family and I know that's hard, but you can find family in other people and places, just be patient and take little steps.

🙂👍 Excellent advice. I like the quote!

Re: Describe your day.

What a nice, great post!

The pizza place sounds like fun! It is great to take baby steps towards a life that is better.

Yea! My A1C went down from 9.5 to 7.9, so, when I visit on Wednesday, I will ask to get my diabetes medication lowered, to tire me out less etc.

Yea! I can catch the Olympics, videos and updates, from my laptop! I am allowed to watch TV/cable downstairs if I feel like it, too. The opening ceremony sure was long! I mostly want to see Japan.

Yea, it is sad that I lost my family, wonder about the effect on my life.

I'm glad I have film|boards and meet interesting people living here in the Cleveland, Ohio area.

I must admit, it's stressful in this group home, too, Black/mixed people. It's in a Black community, and they are bitter, but a lot of White people are nicer and less racist here than in Orlando.

I need to think about saving money and planning an escape. I've looked at group homes in the Cleveland, Ohio are out and wish I could get out of state, maybe to Minnesota, but I can't afford to move and would maybe have to stay in a homeless shelter until I get approved of for benefits. New York state said they serve people in the state. I wonder if Pennsylvania would be better. Still, I don't think I can afford transportation. At least, it may be better if it's not a Black community etc. I was also wondering if I should go straight for Germany/Europe. It's hard to find help, and the one way I found costs $75 for a 1/2 hour phone call, and I don't have much money from the government to spend on things other than rent. I may never have come here if I knew it was like this.

Re: Describe your day.

I'm exhausted just reading that!! It's Saturday morning at my place, and I haven't done much. Got up, showered, had brekkie, filled birdbath, danced around to music, checked filmboards and went round the world on Google.

Re: Describe your day.

It blows my mind that it's already Saturday in NZ! What does going around the world involve?

I love that your morning routine involves dancing and checking Filmboards. Mine too, except for the dancing, my heels are misbehaving in the morning.

We're growing peas this year, only enough for a handful between us with each meal but they are delicious all the same.

Re: Describe your day.

I get the nostalgia bug sometimes and check out my old haunts on Google maps, and Google world. Remember, I had 10 years in England before my parents decided NZ was a better place. My old school, our old home, and other places I remember from my childhood have been part of my armchair travels today.
Fresh peas are a wonderful taste experience!

Yes, and we have no say in the matter, though I can't really resent my folks for making the move they did from UK to NZ. I only spent 7yrs on top of the globe and got to move to the Great Land Of Oz.

Norman! What did you put in my tea?

Re: Describe your day.

The Antipodes is pretty darned good!

Re: Describe your day.

Yes, can't complain!

I used to wish my folks had moved to Canada or the US, but not so much anymore. Much better lifestyle Downunder.

Norman! What did you put in my tea?

Re: Describe your day.

You're a Brit!

I have quite a few relatives in Australia, they got the chance to travel there for next to nothing. They took it and life was pretty good to them.

Re: Describe your day.

Like anywhere, life can be full of many challenges, but it is a great place to live. I know I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

I think I'll survive your accusation of asking a boring question.

More importantly can you survive making a cheap innuendo that didn't really land?

I don't think that you know what innuendo means.

Perhaps it has something to do with this, where we destroyed the tarriers once again, with Tavernier lifting the trophy 🥰

No, silly goose.

Those titles belong to the 'old' rangers. You know, the team that folded and died?

You guys did well to win your first title.

Re: Describe your day.

Sounds like a busy but pleasant day!

Got up at 5:00, fed the cat, stripped the bed and put on fresh linens. Had coffee with Mr. Margo while watching the news. After he left for work,it was treadmill time while listening to music from my thread, Over The Years. After a shower and getting dressed, time to do up the dishes and clean the kitchen before Perry Mason came on. I always watch my favorite lawyer at 8:00 AM.
After that, I went out and puttered in my garden and watered the plants… had another coffee on the front porch and took a look on my phone at what what was up on Filmboards… The usual same old same old. I also put in my Walmart grocery order… Mr. Margo picks that up after work.
After that, I came in where it's cooler, and did some housework. Lunch time? Cottage cheese and cantaloupe. Gave the cat a rubdown with the grooming glove… He loves that, and brushed the usual pound of fur off his hairy little hide. Talked to my sister on the phone for a while, Helped Mr. Margo bring in the grocery haul when he arrived home…. We had a couple of beers out on the porch wile he filled me in on today's adventures at work. Aftyer that, we came in and had dinner. He is relaxing in the bedroom, watching TV at the moment. I am here in the office telling you and anyone who reads this, about my rather dull day!
