Conservation of the Ruby Slippers…

I found this interesting.
Some of you may too.

Re: Conservation of the Ruby Slippers…

Of course a woman would be interested in women's shoes!

Meh.
Just a movie prop.
Get over it.

Re: Conservation of the Ruby Slippers…

Shut up

Re: Conservation of the Ruby Slippers…

No.
I have just as much of a right to offer opinions and thoughts as anyone else does.

Just a worthless movie prop that I don't give a shit about and I wanted to share that.
Deal with it.

Re: Conservation of the Ruby Slippers…

You're trying way too hard here

Re: Conservation of the Ruby Slippers…

Whatever.

You are entitled to your opinion as well and I recognize that.

Re: Conservation of the Ruby Slippers…

And I am "entitled" to share info about movie props on a movie site.
I not only like the movie… I like history and I am all for the restoration of film and film memorabilia.
If this is a subject you are not interested in, pass it by, and find another thread that amuses you.
If you are attempting to insult me, you have failed. I consider the source.

Re: Conservation of the Ruby Slippers…

I didn't know it was a bunch of sequins. Looks dull in the close-ups. Maybe there isn't enough light shining on it. I have been reading about Technicolor recently and they always mention The Wizard of Oz and the ruby slippers in particular.

Re: Conservation of the Ruby Slippers…

I think the amount of detail that was put into those shoes is amazing.
Looking at them in the movie, it looks like a sort of glitter we would see today.
I can only imagine the work that went into sewing those sequins.

Looks dull in the close-ups.

Yes, they do. Of course, they have been around since 1939.

Re: Conservation of the Ruby Slippers…

I have heard/ read that there were more than one pair…
while looking up other memorabilia earlier today, I found all sorts of interesting things on You Tube. You may find this interesting.
Debbie Reynold's memorabilia museum. You will see Ruby Slippers there!

A huge fortune in history. they really are beautiful treasures.
I'm amazed at just how much has been collected, indexed, and kept with such care.

Re: Conservation of the Ruby Slippers…

They didn't even have good ole Dr. Shoals at the time, let alone, Memory Foam!
