Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

The movies are chock full of ditzy bubbleheads, but they are almost always female.

Can you name a movie dum-dum who is a guy?

I pick Cowboy from "The Boys in the Band".

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

I've always had a little crush on Eddie from "Jaws 2". And he was definitely a little bit on the ditzy side. But a real sweetheart.

Never saw that flick.

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

This character is from a TV show, not a movie, but he's a very, very ditzy knucklehead type guy. He has a hard time spelling the band "devo"…

Vinnie from "Square Pegs"

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

No, it didn't. At the risk of sounding pretentious, I am going to say that I believe the show was ahead of its time, even though it is very much of its time. It's just that it was on the quirky side and I don't think that there were enough people to appreciate it. The show is definitely not geared towards the lowest common denominator. I don't know if the show was too good or not, but every episode gets out loud laughs out of me.

We don't talk about Bruno! No, no, no!

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

Yes! SJP was such a sweet teenager. At least she played one on tv. Patty Greene. She and her best friend, Lauren, were underdogs, both very easy to root for.

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

Yes!

Jethro is a perfect example of what I am talking about.

He sure was a cute lunkhead.

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

You haven't seen "Jaws 2"? Have you seen the original "Jaws"?

I imagine you haven't even heard of the early 80s sitcom "Square Pegs". I think the show is genius funny.

And not lacking in male ditzes, either.

Here's Johnny!

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

Yes, I did see the original Jaws. Great film!

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

Yes, it was. It's in my top ten.

I always thought Robert Shaw was a man with both hotness and beauty. A real man's man. So nice.

Do you think Mr. Shaw was a nice-looking and/or sexy man?

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

Tim Blake Nelson as Delmar O'Donnell in "O Brother, Where Art Thou." More of a complete moron than ditzy.

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

ditz > moron

But thank for contributing. I've never seen that movie.

Another ditzy guy (also from TV) would be Woody Harrelson from "Cheers".

He was also quite adorable.

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

I can see where you are coming from Evil Ed being dingy. I'd say he was a little on the flaky side, too. But I always liked him. Stephen Geoffreys had his own unique presence. I liked him even better in "976-EVIL". Did you see that one?

"My life is over. I might as well dance with Johnny Slash!"

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

Yes I have 976-Evil on DVD. There's a scene where it rains fish. Gotta find time to watch this month. Geoffrey's had a chance to do the Fright Night sequel but chose the leading role in 976. Can you blame him for not wanting to be second to Brewster yet again?

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

No, Ed has so much more personality than Brewster.

And personally speaking, I would always choose Sandy Dennis over Roddy McDowell to be my co-star.

"My life is over. I might as well dance with Johnny Slash!"

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

Brewster was a cutie though.

I like McDowell in Fright Night and I believe he gave an Oscar worthy turn. Of course the Academy bypassed him due to it being horror and that year gave support to one of the most undeserved nominees and wins EVER, Don Ameche.

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

Joey from Friends.

Re: Cite a ditzy/airhead movie character who is male

Yes, Joey was a sweetheart, but kind of a dum dum. Good call. I like that when you paired them off in twows, Joey always got teamed up with Phoebe, who is by far my favorite character on that show.

Great point, absolutely charmless, yet I would give D&D a little more credit in this department than those ugly and dimwitted blockheads B&B.
