Celebrating Women's History Month

What do you think of these "31 Empowering Ways to Celebrate Women's History Month" (from https://www.sheknows.com/living/articles/1138352/celebrating-womens-history-month/)?

March is Women’s History Month, and there’s no better month to make a difference than this one. Although it can sometimes feel like we’re going backward, women have made remarkable strides coming together and demanding action throughout history, and this year has been no different.

To celebrate, we wanted to find even more ways to empower ourselves. Whether you want to make personal changes or take political action, we’ve put together a list of ideas to keep you occupied for the whole month.

1. Go braless.

2. Ask for a raise.

3. Stop saying you’re sorry for a day.

4. Spend a week saying no when you want to say no.

5. Do research on the market value of your job, and use that info to prep for asking for a raise or looking for a new job.

6. Donate to Emily’s List, an organization dedicated to helping to elect progressive, pro-abortion rights women to office.

7. Donate to Support the Girls to give women experiencing homelessness in North America bras and menstrual products.

8. Sign up to mentor young women at Big Brothers, Big Sisters of America.

9. Donate to Girls Not Brides, aimed at ending child marriage.

10. Donate to CARE International, which focuses on fighting for the rights of women and girls, who make up 70% of the world’s poorest people.

11. Binge-watch Workin’ Moms (available on Netflix).

12. Watch Everything Everywhere All At Once, (available on Amazon Prime), a sci-fi adventure film that’s really about the relationship between a mother and her daughter. The two main actresses have been nominated for multiple awards for their moving performances.

13. Watch A League of Their Own (available on Amazon), a show based on the movie based on the real life World War II-era women’s professional baseball league. If you found the representation in the original film lacking, then this show, which features multiple queer characters and people of color as main characters, will be a refreshing (and realistic) new take.

14. Watch The Woman King (available on Netflix), a story starring Viola Davis as a real-life general in the 1820s who trained an all-female group of warriors in the West African kingdom of Dahomey (modern day Benin).

15. Watch Obvious Child (available on Amazon), a rom-com about an abortion.

16. Listen to We Can Do Hard Things, the podcast hosted by Glennon Doyle, her wife Abby Wambach, and her sister Amanda Doyle. In each episode they talk frankly about a variety of societal and emotional topics, often with guests joining in on the conversation.

17. Listen to the Therapy for Black Girls podcast when you need a dose of wellness, mental health advice, and cultural conversation from licensed phsychologist Dr. Joy Harden and her podcast guests.

18. Get some real-talk sex tips on the Sex with Emily podcast.

19. Watch the documentary Disclosure (available on Netflix) to learn more about how the depiction of transgender women in the media has lead to problematic and false assumptions about them, leading in some cases to violence and even murder. Support all your sisters, not just your cis-ters!

20. Go on a hike with a women’s group.

21. Blast an all-female music playlist.

22. Volunteer as a Planned Parenthood escort.

23. Schedule your yearly well-woman exam (if you haven’t already).

24. Schedule time to work on a project that’s meaningful or fun for you.

25. Call or email your representatives about an issue that’s important to you.

26. If you have children, read them Rad American Women A-Z: Rebels, Trailblazers, and Visionaries Who Shaped Our History . . . and Our Future!

27. Support movies directed by women, like the Natalie Morales-directed coming-of-age comedy Plan B, which is available to stream on Hulu.

28. Read books released by women, like Olga Dies Dreaming by Xochitl Gonzalez and Peach Blossom Spring by Melissa Fu.

29. Seek out local businesses run by women and support them.

30. Write an email to a woman who has inspired you.

31. Make sure you’re registered to vote.

Re: Celebrating Women's History Month

#31 is the most important. it should have been number 1 but that wouls have ruined the texture of this mostly useless virtue signaling

*emily list mention: if pro-choice beliefs actually translated into actual electoral results then the gop would not have won the house and the dems would have expanded their senate majority with more seats. neither of those happened so i wonder if the gop was correct in saying that the texas bans on abortion and then the reversal of roe wade would have little to no impact on 2022 elections. if so, democrats had better start scare mongering about abortion rights and freedom to control one's body.

Re: Celebrating Women's History Month

Dunno what any of those have to do with history.
The suggestion to read a book about a famous woman, such as Sojourner Truth, should be on there.

1. Go braless.

But who is that one really for?

7. Donate to Support the Girls to give women experiencing homelessness in North America bras and menstrual products.

Wait a sec.
Do they want women to go braless or not?

Here are some other ideas:

32. Get a man to drive somewhere he has never gone before while you hide his phone.
When he is too stubborn to stop and ask for directions, you do it.
Show him what a coward he is!
You go girl!

33. Bring up this topic as much as you can only change it to Women's HERstory Month.
You go girl!

34. Kick a man in the nuts when he is pretending to be a tranny at a sporting event.
You go girl!

35. Watch the movie 9-5 everyday for the month from 9-5.
Atta girl!

36. Watch Archie Bunker of All in the Family or any show or movie depicting how dumb men are to remind yourself how lucky you were to be born a woman.

37. Get a tattoo that would read "Grrrrrrl Power," or "Girls Rock and Rule" or anything that shows your pride of being born with the right parts and make sure it is somewhere that everyone can see it.

38. Plan a girls night out to see Chippendales.
You go girlfriends!

39. Go lesbian just for the month.

This particular list is for "empowerment."

I almost posted a different list that was more about women's history, but I was curious what people thought about this list.

lol at your list. I thought of posting "herstory" instead of "history" too.

The Chippendales idea is good.
