Brexit: Has anyone changed their mind?

Brexiters siding with Remainers, Remainers now agreeing with Brexit?

I can't say that I have, but my attitude has always been pretty simple. I wanted UK laws made in the UK, not Brussels. I dare say that Johnny Foreigner could run Britain better than Westminster's current crop of numbnuts, but they are our numbnuts rather than EU numbnuts and that is the bit that counts.

Economics never entered into the matter. Actually I was rather expecting another recession, which has not arrived although I dare say that one will be along soon. But I thought freedom was worth a few job losses and a shilling or two on the income tax.

Immigration I could not care less about. A successful country will always attract immigrants so the time to start worrying is when folk stop trying to cross the Channel on leaking bicycle tyres.

But that is my take on the matter. How does everyone else feel?

Re: Brexit: Has anyone changed their mind?

Honestly I don't see how Brexit goes forward without Trump. I could be wrong here, but it seems the Brexit ball got rolling because of fears of immigration combined with Brexiters getting support from right-wing Americans in the age of Trumpism.

Since those fears have reduced by a lot over the last few years, and with right-wing Americans being too occupied with their own disaster of a party to waste energy on UK politics, I just don't see how Brexit can happen.

It has already happened.

Re: Brexit: Has anyone changed their mind?

Most Brits still support the decision.

The share of Brits who declare they would vote to rejoin stands at just 32 per cent, while the number opposed stands at 34 per cent. Excluding the undecided and those who would abstain, the numbers result in a familiar 52 per cent for staying out, versus 48 per cent for rejoining. Though these figures illustrate a divided country, they also reveal a high number of undecided voters. Regretful of Brexit though they may be, the British people are yet to demonstrate an active desire to reverse it.

😺 Schrodinger's Cat walks into a bar, and doesn't. 🤨 Let's go, Brandon! 🤨 Try that in a small town.

Re: Brexit: Has anyone changed their mind?

Why the hell should Brits give up control over their own country to Brussels?

I've called the EU the Fourth German Reich and I stand by that. Especially without Britain, the Germans dominate that union.

This happened with the reunification of Germany. What also happened at that time was the communists of East Germany were free to spread throughout the European superstate and take the "long march" through its institutions.

It's not only a German Fourth Reich, but a communist one too. If the Dems in the US are allowed to continue to remove all opposition there, and the EU survives the oncoming economic disaster, the planet will tumble into a UN led global communist regime that will be impossible to undo.

Re: Brexit: Has anyone changed their mind?

The global corporations will not allow a globalist communist empire. It ain't gonna happen. If there is a globalist state it will be run by capitalists in NYC.

My post wasn't for you. You don't even have your finger on the pulse of Filmboards, and you're the admin. Global politics is going to be way beyond you.

Re: Brexit: Has anyone changed their mind?

You quoted me, fool. I'm the one who coined the term "Fourth Reich" for the EU. Get your own material.

I've been a nationalist for years. I'm schooling you. Global corporatism is the despot of the future, not Marxism.

I replied to your post too. Doesn't mean it was for you.

Re: Brexit: Has anyone changed their mind?

You quoted me, fool. But I see I stumped you and you have no answer. Concession noted.

Take as many notes as you want. It won't make you any wiser.

Well, it can't be any darn sight worse than the left lunatics running the show at the moment.

The left are just being given their time in sun, while all these underpinnings are underway then it will soon make an about face turn for the worse or for the better.

Norman! What did you put in my tea?

Re: Brexit: Has anyone changed their mind?

If they have, they're keeping quiet about it.
