Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

Lonesome Dove
Band of Brothers.
The first season of True Detective.

Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

I don't think True Detective qualifies as a miniseries.

Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

I changed my post. I think of the first season as being a miniseries because it's a stand alone thing. Also, I forgot the original IT. A few Of Stephen King's stories have been turned into a miniseries, but most of them suck.

Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

Chernobyl was 2019.

Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

I haven’t seen this one but most people are raving about The Queen’s Gambit. I’m going to look for this Chernobyl one. Not sure if you specifically meant documentary series vs. fictional ones.

Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

Chernobyl is a masterpiece. Queen’s Gambit is dull and lacklustre. I gave up after a few eps.

Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

Queens Gambit is shit. Does she even get her tits out? Not even once.

Try The Great. I have a feeling you'll get a kick out of Peter III.

Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

Looks promising - will give it a go.

Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

I keep hearing The Queen's Gambit is great but I can't say I care about chess, so I haven't exactly rushed to see it.

Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

Tiger King!

Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

The Queen's Gambit & The Undoing.

Wasn't Chernobyl released in 2019?

LE TEMPS DETRUIT TOUT.

Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

Who cares? 2020 was just an extension of 2019.

Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

I'll add Cheer to what's already been mentioned. Trust me, you don't need to give one crap about competitive cheerleading to find this docuseries a compelling watch.

Good grief, is that girl 12?

Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

Good grief, is that girl 12?

Uh, no. 18 at minimum since her squad cheers for a junior college.

She's what is called a "flier" in the sport, which means she gets tossed around into the air as part of the routine. It's in the nature of the position that only very petite girls can do it because they need to be light.

(It's also a dangerous position; she's suffered 5 concussions during her career, one of which happens in the first episode with the cameras rolling. Competitive cheerleading is literally the number one cause of catastrophic injuries to female athletes.)

Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

You seem to know a disturbing amount about cheerleading. I would rather you didn't talk to me.

Move along.

Her thighs…

Re: Best miniseries of 2020?

I think Chernobyl serves as a warning. Recall the scenes where the more realistic characters were trying to explain the danger and other more senior officials were dismissing those concerns because they didn't mesh with the party line? Almost as though they were so entrenched in their thinking that they expected the laws of physics themselves to bend to the parties will. The left with their cancel culture is like a miniaturized version of that same mentality. That is were they want to take this country. This is why we need to resist. Todays generation didn't live thru it, ignores everything that happened before they were born, refuses to learn from history and seems determined to repeat it. They think they are smarter and can succeed where others failed. They are wrong.

Beware the sound of one hand clapping.
