Re: Audio Mastering Student Short Film

Can you be specific in what you mean by "mastering"? Level adjustment? EQ? Adding reverb to make studio-produced ADR sound like it's location sound? What seems to be the problem?

And, if you're the editor, what's keeping you from doing many of these things yourself in your editing software?

Re: Audio Mastering Student Short Film

I'm honestly Just not sure. Like it sounds great on my laptop but when we screened it on the big screen the audio was just uneven all over. Can you give it a watch and tell me what you think

Re: Audio Mastering Student Short Film

Can you provide more details on how the audio was mixed, and what sort of sound system you'd want to master for?

I have a variety of loudspeakers that I use to mix on, from cost-no-object ATC SCM150ASL Pro monitors down to a pair of old Radio Shack Minimus 7, and a lot in between. I'm guessing that you want this to sound good in a movie theater, is that correct? Do you know if the venue is THX certified? What kind of channel layout? 5.1? 7.1? Any detail would be helpful.

It's gonna be screened in Times Square in October haha. I did all the audio editing through avid.

Re: Audio Mastering Student Short Film

Audacity is free software that you could use to fix that.

My primary mode visiting this site is cell phone, and unfortunately my cell phone doesn't allow me to click and drag along the link to then copy/paste it into my browser to go there. If you could re-post the link underlined, I'll be able to click on it.
