Re: Armani Runaway

Damn, that Instagram shot, though.

Re: Armani Runaway

OMG she's kisssing her hand!!!! she really idolizes her.

Kidman looks great, she= always looks better in Europe.

but must have been a nice moment to share with Huppert, especially since this is Huppert's first and hopefully she wins. I wont be able to take Portman winning two oscars.

Re: Armani Runaway

I love Portman (and she loves Kidman), have you seen Jackie? Much rather her than Emma Stone.

Re: Armani Runaway

I like Portman as well, but its too early to win two Oscars,

This is the order of preference for me in that category.

Huppert
Negga
Portman
Stone
Streep

Re: Armani Runaway

That is a pretty good ranking. Can't disagree. Imagine if Huppert actually won. That be awesome.

Re: Armani Runaway

These photos made my day.
I am so happy they both are nominated.
My favourite actresse. So happy.

Re: Armani Runaway

Stunning😍😍😍 why she always looks way better in Europe?
I think she should take her European stylist with her everywhere...
Some of her American appearances are really cheap compared to how she looks in Europe.

agreed, tacky and over done.

in Europe she looks sleek and understated more natural.

Lainey gossip giving this coverage

I'll never forgive this blog for being so awful to Nicole but they've been softening their tune as of late.

Re: Armani Runaway

Armani is responsible for one of her best looks this season, so hopefully she can repeat at the Oscars!

Re: Armani Runaway

She needs to knock it out of the park for the Oscars, she isn't just presenting she's actually nominated.

She'll need help.

Re: Armani Runaway

Her appearance in 2011 was horrendous. Still her worst ever outfit on the red carpet. Too bad she was nominated.

At Armani Privé, Nicole Kidman Talks Oscars and Acting

PARIS — Less than five hours after she was nominated for an Oscar for her role in “Lion,” the actress Nicole Kidman was carefully making her way down the steps of the Palais de Chaillot in Paris, surrounded by a scrum of reporters, photographers and onlookers wielding their cellphones, to the front row of the Armani Privé fashion show. The nomination was the fourth of Ms. Kidman’s career (she won the best actress award in 2003 for her role as Virginia Woolf in “The Hours”), but she still sounded excited about being in the running.

“I’m so happy. Really, just delighted,” she said about the nomination for best supporting actress, where she is up against Viola Davis and Michelle Williams, among others.

“The strangest thing is that the older I get, the more excited I feel. It’s such an honor to be recognized for this film — a project which was such a heartfelt achievement for everyone involved — and a movie that is obviously so close to my heart,” Ms. 5b4 Kidman added, perhaps referring to her adoption of two children with her former husband, Tom Cruise. The movie tells the story of a lost Indian boy who is adopted by an Australian couple before, as an adult, finding his biological mother.

As she made her way to her seat, clad in a long black dress with a bow in the middle, Ms. Kidman was greeted by the Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, who said, “Congratulations.”

“I’m so happy,” responded Ms. Kidman, adding “Harvey’s happy,” referring to Harvey Weinstein, one of the film’s producers. “That’s important.”

Minutes before the show was to begin, with ushers urging people to take their seats, Ms. Kidman praised the director Garth Davis and the Australian film crew, as well as the family whose life story inspired the film. “Importantly, I also want to thank the Brierley family for putting themselves in such a vulnerable place and sharing their story with the world,” she told me.

Ms. Kidman was not the only Oscar nominee at the show. Sitting two seats over, in a slim-fitting blue pantsuit, was the French actress Isabelle Huppert, who is in the running for best actress for her role in “Elle.” It is Ms. Huppert’s first nomination.

The two actresses posed for pictures, giving each other a congratulatory handshake, a show of support no doubt made easier by the fact that they are competing in separate categories.

“What a delight to be sitting so close to Isabelle,” Ms. Kidman said. “It’s wonderful. I just want to sit here and talk to her about acting.”

Another NYT report about the show:

A few hours after the 2017 Oscar nominations were streamed live on YouTube, the best supporting actress candidate Nicole Kidman materialized on the steps of the Palais de Chaillot in Paris.

Clad in a bell-sleeved black dress, blond hair pulled back in a high ponytail, statement jewels dangling from her ears, she was trailed by a posse of frenzied photographers. Roberta Armani, Giorgio Armani’s niece, clutched her by the arm as if she were a prized chicken and guided her into the bowels of the museum for the Armani Privé show.

Downstairs they took their seats next to a small woman in a sky-blue trouser suit and black mock turtleneck — who happened to be the best actress nominee Isabelle Huppert (who wore Armani when she won her best actress Golden Globe). As these things go, it was a fashion moment in the making.

What were they doing there? Award season shopping, we presume. So the audience settled back to guess what they might wear.

And were treated to the story of Giorgio and the Giant Peach.

Also mandarin, satsuma and clementine. Mr. Armani has a fondness for a color theme, and the chic of pixelated jacquard jackets over skinny black trousers and jeweled T-shirts soon segued into orange gowns in watercolor silks, sometimes with a jeweled bib around the neck, stiff ruffled cape or Arabesque embroidery. The predictable “Orange Is the New Black” jokes ensued (sometimes the orange was actually paired with black, which created an unfortunate Halloween effect). Ms. Huppert tapped her index finger against her upper lip and considered.

If it was hard to imagine either her or Ms. Kidman in the swirl of silk accordion organza shaped à la tangerine on the hips, a Swarovski-strewn column twinkling under the shadow of a lace Creamsicle slip was a potential red carpet moment in the making.

After missing out on the best pic nod last year he must be very happy to be back. ALso he took a big gamble putting all his eggs in the Lion basket. He should be thankful to Kidman, I havent seen her ever campaign this hard for any of her previous films, she didnt even work this hard promoting Rabbit Hole.
