Yes. BTW, did you know that I visited his grave in St. Thomas Church in Leipzig, Germany in 2011? It was by accident. There was a line of people, and I joined it. Turns out there was a choral concert in the church. After the concert, I discover his grave in the floor of the church, much to my astonishment! He was the church's Kapellmeister from 1723 until his death in 1750.

This is why it's usually wise to join a line when you're in a foreign country. It's also wise to head towards the source when you hear music. That's a couple of tips from your Uncle Lar.

Interesting…though wouldn't always join a line in a foreign country.
Ok ok, for that very reason you said "usually".

Bach was Lutheran (not Catholic)…referring to OP's headline.

Re: Are popular Catholic hymns influenced by Bach a lot?

Well that's one of the differences between you and me, and I did say "usually". It would depend on the country. And yes, I know he was Lutheran. BTW, that's what I was raised as.

Doesn't surprise me you were raised Lutheran, you 65% germanic Agnostic. ☺
And yes, you said "usually" and yes, it may depend on the country.
Will never forget how I joined the line and got kidney-goulash.
Needed to eat it otherwise they would've felt offended.
Since then I'm more careful what line I join.

You got "kitty goulash"?? When and where was that?

Kidney-goulash!…no "kitty" in it…lol.
Guess it was beef and it was in Egypt about 20 years ago at a street kitchen.
I love Egyptian food but sorry, cannot stand the taste of kidneys.
Well, obviously survived the kidneys.

Re: Are popular Catholic hymns influenced by Bach a lot?

Oh "kidney goulash"! My bad. I totally agree with you there. I tried steak and kidney pie my first time in London. It was awful! I could only choke down one bite of kidney.

Will enjoy this delicate soup although, Ha!
And yes, will even watch the last episodes of Bones (2017) in a few.
Luckily we don't have smell-TV by now…Hmmm…could be a diet-support.
Everybody gets blown the smell of rotten dead bodies into the living room.
–> slim TV-viewers!
