Blu-ray Hi-Def Equipment : Any Recommendations on 3D Blu-Ray Players, TVs or Laptops???
Re: Any Recommendations on 3D Blu-Ray Players, TVs or Laptops???
Marantz UD7007
Its a pricy Blu-ray player, have one my self, but its the best darn player i ever had.
Even its upscaling of DVD's to 1080p is crisp.

If you don't like it in Black, then you can also get it in Silver, the classic Marantz look.

Thanks for the recommendation, unfortunately that model is way out of my price range - I'm looking for around $400 tops.

As far as blu-ray players, I've had good luck with Sony 2D players. Their upscaling is top-notch. I can only imagine their 3D players do a good job presenting 3D too. 3D isn't exactly rocket-science; it's a simple albeit pricey upgrade.
TVs, same deal.
As far as computers, I have no clue.

This is probably one of the best entry level 3D Blu-ray players on the market . It's what I have and I think you can get the unit brand new on Amazon for $200 . http://www.trustedreviews.com/pioneer-bdp-170-review
Getting a 3D Monitor and compatible video card for your computer won't be cheap.. probably way over $1,000

I'll keep that one in mind, should fit my needs rather well.

I've had a number of bluray players which became dodgy after a year or so use . I had become tired of the remotes and software etc going south . After some months of research and comparing at a nearby large electronics store , I chose the Pioneer mainly for the high quality video and formats , as well as it's simple operation . And I can tell you it was well worth it .
I mentioned Amazon , but I am not in America , and don't know if it's available there . Here is another address I believe is a US site which sells them .

The only problem with Pioneer, is that they have a crappy support. I discovered that with a BDP-440 i once had.
The drive broke after 2 years and since it was chipped region-free i tried to locate a new drive for it. Entirely impossible!
The official service places for Pioneer i tried, reported that they could not find the serial number on the player in Pioneer's database, so they could not support with a fitting drive for the player, since that serial number was required to get a fitting drive.
The player was only worth being delivered to the electronics junkyard.

Well , I will have to agree with you ! And the BDP-440 is not a cheap player . Over many years , it's been a struggle to get after-service for any faulty brand , and generally expensive in repair .

One reason why i also have the Marantz UD7007 today. The drive inside the player has its own casing, just like the DVD and Blu-ray drives for desktop computers.
So it should be easy to find a replacement Marantz drive in the future, if the accident should happen, that the drive breaks down.
Any Recommendations on 3D Blu-Ray Players, TVs or Laptops???
If I can get a computer or laptop that plays 3D movies and also can convert 2D images to 3D then I won't have to shell out for a TV and player on top of it, at least not right now.
Also I'm not trying to go completely broke, so no $10,000 top of the line stuff needed .
Tried going to Frys to look at their 3D monitors...but...they don't have the software loaded on the computers to let them show the 3D image AND they don't have the monitors set up so you can see them with eht glasses because they are afraid they will get stolen or broken, so they expect a person to pay for the monitor take them all the way home to test to see if they even like how it works
