On an original copy of "Physical Graffiti" the cover opens up and you can also see through the little windows to a backing behind.

I had one in perfect condition until all my old vinyl was ripped off from a storage unit.

Re: Album Art you like as much as the Album

How did someone get into your storage unit? That really sucks to have that happen. I wish I had kept all my vinyl record collections. I started again when there was a resurgence, but then you know, technology and all that, and I got suckered into getting rid of them because of "space." Oh what I'd give…

Re: Album Art you like as much as the Album

They took up massive space. That's why I had them in storage. Lol. I kept them in my mom's basement (I never ever lived down there πŸ˜‰) until we sold the homestead. If I knew then what I know now about how thieves stalk and target those storage facilities I would have lugged them around from house to apartment to house.

Re: Album Art you like as much as the Album

That's a pretty good question. There are albums that I love that have artwork that isn't quite as good as the music. And there's album art I love but the music doesn't quite live up to it.

So for the artwork to be just as great as the music, here are some favourites.

Re: Album Art you like as much as the Album

Can you include the artists for reference?

Re: Album Art you like as much as the Album

In order:
Magnified by Failure (grunge/alternative rock)
Purple by Baroness (slightly proggy stoner/sludge metal with pop sensibilities)
Once More 'Round the Sun by Mastodon (similar to Baroness)
Pillow Talk by Ellen Loo (basically a female version of later Radiohead work, from Hong Kong)
A Sun That Never Sets by Neurosis (Doom, Sludge, Psychedelic, a bit folky, a bit proggy. Very brutal stuff)
Lonerism by Tame Impala (every 20-something year old white kid's Spotify poppy psych rock playlist, but good nonetheless)

Danke Shoene. I love Tame Impala btw.

I don't like what they've put out after Currents. But they were pretty good.
