Good Morning, Vietnam : Actors in this movie that are no longer us

Actors in this movie that are no longer us

I think of this movie as if it were just showing yesterday at the theaters. But its been since 1987. Still, all the fine actors that have passed. Makes me so sad to know they will never grace the screen again with their unique talents.

Robin Williams - Of course. No need to say more. Even sadder knowing how he died.

Bruno Kirby - From the Godfather 2 to Harry met Sally to City Slickers. What a fine actor he was.

JT Walsh - The man could play anything and make it better. From the Grifters to a Few Good Men to Hoffa to Nixon. Probably known as a character actor, which are usually the best actors of all. His villain in Breakdown is so under rated. He stole the show.

Noble Willingham, Another great character actor probably best known for his role on Walker Texas ranger. But the man played in so many films. Either as a good old boy or an evil corrupt villain. And he did so with equal ability.

There are probably more, but these are the names that stuck out to me. I am in my fifties and every day it seems I lose an actor from my younger days that I loved and was a fan of. God Rest their souls. As they say getting old sucks, but it beats the alternative.

Re: Actors in this movie that are no longer us

It is indeed very sad to see think they're no longer with us but they left their mark in film and they'll still be fondly remembered for many years. I think it adds even more poignance to the film. They don't really make movies like this anymore.
