It seldom works when a big name star like Pitt or Willis makes a guest appearance on a sitcom. The producer is always trying to highlight their celebrity and they never work themselves into the script without trying to call attention to themselves.
However, the ones who are the best are lesser B-Listers like Applegate who made their careers on tv sitcoms and know the game.
