Travel and Recreation : 10 worst towns in Mississippi.

10 worst towns in Mississippi.

Number 1 is Tutwiler. Just looking at pics of it suggest it isn’t somewhere you’d want to visit. It has one of the highest crime rates in the country yet a population of 720 people, and a 28% poverty rate. It’s home to the Tutwiler Prison, so many of the residents are from that prison. I’d also add Coffeeville to the list, which is small, decaying, ramshackle town. With a name like Coffeeville, coffee companies could put a headquarters there, and create lots of jobs and boost the economy there. They could also coffee-up the town with coffee-themed landmarks to attract tourists.

The scariest one I’ve seen is Sledge. The city hall there looks like an outhouse.

MS has some nice spots, like Biloxi. Biloxi is nice, right off the Gulf. It’s like a Panama City Beach town. Stay away from anywhere west and Northeast of Jackson.

Sledge should be called Sludge.

Re: 10 worst towns in Mississippi.

I have a friend in Mississippi who tells me Louisiana is even worse. They own a business in Baton Rouge, but choose not to live there. I can believe it because of their high incarceration rate and high crime in New Orleans.
