I think so. My favorite ever, Before Sunrise was released in the middle of the '90s.

Wow how did I forget about that one.
It's atruly a nice romantic film with excitement of meeting a hot guy or girl in your trip to Europe and the excitement of leaving things to destiny.
Yes I guess non modern decade can get close to the great romances of the 90s.

I'm going to disagree on this . Seeing Sarizonana's List of course we see some very impressive romance movies . But recently , I've come to think that each decade offers extraordinary genre . I began to see , you could spend an entire lifetime studying romance noire , and hearing of rare hidden romance movies . Last night , my wife got me to put on for New Year , About Time (2013) , a British Romance by Richard Curtis , who is an acclaimed specialist . It is an understated movie which explores the human connections . And About Time is a romance movie that is like wine , improving with each viewing .
One of my favourite coming-of-age romance movies is Mystic Pizza (1988) but my wife doesn't enjoy it . Yet she enjoys Pretty Woman (1990) whereas I prefer Larry Crowne (2011) instead .
Also I have to mention Her (2013)by Spike Jonze , which is an outstanding movie with it's dark narcissistic view of the genre .
