(rhetorical) is there a worst movie than this?

It's hard to believe anything can be worse (but I've seen some that are). This film fails on just about every level for me. Acting, writing, direction and photography are just awful. Even the casting - especially Penelope Ann Miller - isn't good. I recently tried to watch it for a second time to decide if it was better than I remembered, but I couldn't finish it, it's so bad.

"Worthington, we're being attacked by giant bats!"

Watch the film "Monster-a-Go-Go." I triple-dog-dare-ya to watch that and say that 'The Relic' is the worst film you ever saw.

MAGG made me want to punch everyone associated with that film...and the last 5 minutes are part of the reason.

"Thanks, guys." "So long, partner."

Re: (rhetorical) is there a worst movie than this?

There are many, many movies worse than the relic.

Re: (rhetorical) is there a worst movie than this?

The movies isn't perfect and I think it hurts from trying to adapt the very intricate novel plot into the screen. I also think it tried too hard and too often to be Aliens, from the soundtrack, lightning and her

"It's hard to believe anything can be worse (but I've seen some that are). " Looks like you answered your own (rhetorical) question, even if you are wrong. IMHO, of course.

An American Haunting. Worst movie I'd ever seen. Almost walked out of the theater.

I do agree with another poster, that they tried to adapt a really intricate novel. The movie was decent enough, but didn't come close to doing the book justice (they should have kept more things the same - maybe a miniseries would have been better, like The Stand). I really encourage everyone to read the books, though. Yes, books; there's a sequel called Reliquary and about 13 more that involve Pendergast. They're written by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, and are some of the best horror-mystery-suspense I've ever read. I'd even go so far as to say that I prefer Relic over Jurassic Park (strictly speaking of the books, of course). Honestly, if you're a fan of the genre, please give the books a shot. They're incredible. And while the movie Relic got the basic story correct, it didn't spoil it completely.

I thought it was a good monster on the prowl movie. I didn't find the cast to be bad, nor the writing. Sure, there are a couple of WTF moments, but overall an enjoyable film. How you can be so overly-negative towards it escapes me. I can understand that it may not have been your cup of tea, but there was nothing wrong with the acting from the main cast, nor the direction. It sounds like you are exaggerating just because you didn't care for it.

I am not a fan. I just happen to enjoy movies. Fans are embarrassing.

Re: (rhetorical) is there a worst movie than this?

You clearly haven't watched enough films if you think this is one of the worst films you have seen. Here's a list of films that are much worse: Poltergeist III, Halloween 5,6,Resurrection, Jason takes Manhattan, Silent Night Deadly Night 3, Leprechaun Origins, The Adventures of Pluto Nash, That's My Boy, Speed 2: Cruise Control, Jaws the Revenge, Superman IV, Batman & Robin, Wrong Turn 3,4,5&6, Nightmare on Elm Street (2010), The Thing (2011), Holy Man, Dolly Dearest, Carnosaur, Jack Frost 2, Demonic Toys, Watchers Reborn, American Horror House, Grave Halloween, Catacombs (2007), Little Nicky, and plenty more. I have seen a lot of crap in my life, so you have nothing to complain about.

As for my thoughts on the film, I think it is criminally underrated; I like the concept of a monster loose in the museum, the Kothoga looks awesome, the acting is good, especially Tom Sizemore, and Peter Hyams' direction is solid.

Re: (rhetorical) is there a worst movie than this?

I actually liked "THE RELIC".

I thought that it was an alright Movie.

Re: (rhetorical) is there a worst movie than this?

You obviously haven't seen very many movies.

The worst thing that ever happened to the movies was when some pretentious twit decided they should be art.

Re: (rhetorical) is there a worst movie than this?

Manos: The Hands of Fate is much, much worse.

Happy Birthday, Motherfucker!
