In the UK there is a contradiction which many find hard to reconcile. While illegal immigration numbers are a tiny percentage of the overall figures (and are not processed quick enough), the country badly needs legal migrants to keep the universities, health care and social care sections afloat. They also pay their taxes and help support an ageing population.

Most immigrants abide by the law, even if certain groups appear to exhibit a disproportionate involvement in crime.

Note the conditionals. Others, with less of an agenda to push, are even less condemning. I hope that helps.
