Grey's Anatomy : Maggie, Maggie, Maggie

Maggie, Maggie, Maggie

She is so lucky to have her mother. I would give almost everything to be able to talk to mine just one more time. And I certainly wouldn't be as mean and rude as Maggie was.

Can't wait to see her face when she finds out the truth about her mom.

Re: Maggie, Maggie, Maggie

There's obviously a reason why she's upset with her mother. That doesn't become invalid simply because others have lost theirs.

Re: Maggie, Maggie, Maggie

At first I thought Maggie was acting like a brat, but there's more to the story. She's obviously deeply hurt by her mother abandoning her.

Re: Maggie, Maggie, Maggie

Plus I think anyone would be a little annoyed when you haven't seen your mother for a while and everyone in the hospital has already met her and you don't even know she's here.

Re: Maggie, Maggie, Maggie

But that's Maggie's fault, isn't it? Her mother said Maggie was the one who hasn't even tried to get to know who she is now that she's divorced her father.

Re: Maggie, Maggie, Maggie

You're mother shouldn't treat as a friend would. They should most often be the bigger person. If you go to their place of employment and meet everyone and then find your daughter who you're estranged from- don't be surprised if that creates a bit of annoyance or tension.

Re: Maggie, Maggie, Maggie

She feels like her mom destroyed their family but honestly she needs to get over herself. People divorce. It happens. Instead of placing blame, how about you take into consideration how your parents felt and how they're probably happier now?

Maggie takes this worse than I did when my parents divorced when I was in elementary school. I didn't blame my mom for divorcing my dad, and I didn't blame my dad for divorcing my mom and as an adult, I still don't. It's called maturity and Maggie lacks it.

Re: Maggie, Maggie, Maggie

I've lost my mom too and it's really easy to see people treating their moms badly and hate them for it. But as others have said it sounds like her mom quite literally abandoned her and flitted off to Hawaii to live her dream life. Not cool.

Re: Maggie, Maggie, Maggie

How did she abandon her? They didn't live in the same state before because Maggie moved. She was made that her parents split up and I get being upset about that but Diane shouldn't have to stay in an unhappy marriage just to not upset her grown daughter. Maggie acted like a complete brat. She was picking up on Diane being nervous and acting different than normal but wouldn't even wait to talk to her. Now she is going to miss time with her mom and have regrets because she acted like a child. This is why I can not like this character. She never acts like an adult about anything and it is really annoying. The actress is fine but I can't stand the character.

Re: Maggie, Maggie, Maggie

I agree she didn't abandon her but didn't her mom cheat on her Dad with the family friend/pastor for years? I could understand her feeling very uncomfortable and tense about seeing her. To me the mother seemed to almost avoid her daughter and got close to her colleagues on her own, completely bypassing her daughter- she was likely avoiding. It's certainly not a black and white thing.

Re: Maggie, Maggie, Maggie

Once again, I feel like Maggie just needs to get over it. Without spreading my family's dirty laundry to the world, there were similar circumstances when my parents divorced, and I found out when I overheard some family members gossiping about it. Sure I was upset -anyone would be- but I saw that my parents were much happier apart so I accepted it and that was that.

Now Maggie, on the other hand, is acting like this is all about her. Like her parents not being together anymore is all about how it impacts her. And it's pretty obvious her mom is happy because she's living the life she wants to live and doing the things she wants to do. That should make Maggie happy! I would/do love to see my parents do that. Instead though, Maggie stomps her feet and throws a tantrum about it.

I can get on board with Maggie feeling weird about her mom meeting Meredith and Richard, and even to a certain extent her coworkers, without her, but the rest is just her being ridiculous

Re: Maggie, Maggie, Maggie

Maggie is a crazy woman who needs therapy. No one in their right mind could say those thing to their mom. The sadness she coused could even fasten her cancer.

"I violently dislike you."
