Single Ladies : So, ten minutes into the new season

So, ten minutes into the new season

And the first thing up is, once again, if a guy does it its bad, if a girl does it good.

How dare a man have the gall to be emotionally hurt by seeing the woman he cares for has had sex with someone else

But the new female lead is perfectly justifed in leaving her fiance for cheating on her.

I'm all for drama and good story lines, but does the sexist hypocracy really need to be this blatant?

I see what you mean, but I don't think it is like that on all shows. Yeah, that was dumb how April and Keisha were trying to convince Jerry(?) to give Val a second chance. Why should he?! But, then again, he did break it off didn't he? Then decided to propose last minute.

Re: So, ten minutes into the new season

I was excited to see Jerry last night.

Re: So, ten minutes into the new season

What you said is true Lujipbut given that this show is about these three women, i'm not surprised by this. Last season Charity cheated on her husband and expected her husband to forgive her and got angry when he wanted half of her trust fund. Fastfoward.. Raquel's fiance cheats on her and Val tells her to keep the ring, she earned it.?!?
So yeah it is a double standardbut not a surprising one.

Re: So, ten minutes into the new season

First of all Val is gone and isn't EVER coming back (Keisha told Raquel to keep the ring)and you guys tend to forget, this show is all about the girls and it's even written by woman. All story lines aren't going to add up and I knew with all the cheating me do women would eventually catch up to us men right? IMO the show will suffer without Val, I miss her innocent, sexiness and enticing charm she brought to the show. The new chick is cute and all but she's not a leading lady.

Producer..can we PLEASE KILL off Omar for Christ sakes.he brings NOTHING to the show. I'm so tried of the stereotypical gay guy characters. Not sure how many of you all watch the show "Happy Endings" but Max is gay guy and he isn't the over the top gay dude with a bunch of gay innuendos, he hates girly drinks (Omar Sea-1 Love in the bottle episode) and he hates fashion and LOVES sports. Gay dudes like this really do exist.

Re: So, ten minutes into the new season

Jerry just should have married Val when he knew that marriage was something she wanted. I thought relationships were about compromise?

Re: So, ten minutes into the new season

So, what exactly does comprimise mean to you? The guy compromises and the girl gets what she wants no matter what? What exactly was Val supposed to give up?

Jerry offered her everything a marrige entails, the ring, the ceremony, living together, everything except kids, as his were already in college, and the ability to divorce him and take half his money.

Re: So, ten minutes into the new season

Lol @ hypocracy.

Re: So, ten minutes into the new season

I don't get what you mean.

If a girl cheats it's bad. That's exactly that mega rich handsome distinguished man of hers left her cheating behind high and dry, and she had to run off to Europe to deal with the pain.

Re: So, ten minutes into the new season

She didn't cheat on him. He dumped her, refused to move the relationship to the next level. THey had been broken up for days.Once the words "it's over" are uttered anything else is fair game. How can he get upset that she moved on when he told her in no uncertain terms that it was over whereas raquels' fiance was just that, the man she was going to marry.

Re: So, ten minutes into the new season

Acctually he promised her everything that a marrige offeres minus the acctual document and her right to half his estate if she left him which that document allows, she made it quite clear it wasnt good enough and spent the rest of the episode until their breakup passive agressivly pouting, and he said if your not happy you should leave, and they were broken up for less than 12hrs.

As for the new girl and her husband she made it quite clear she never loved him in the manner married people are suppsed to, and their relationship was basically a fraud from the beginning.

So given she wanst emotionally engaged in the relationship anyway why is her fiance cheating a greater betrayal?

Re: So, ten minutes into the new season

All of them are wrong. Val shouldn't have gone out to dinner with her ex of 5 years when the man she thinks could be the one decided to spare her from a life of never getting what she wants. It's sad, but true that it's hard to think straight when your feelings are hurt and you're drunk and there is a fine man you "used" to be in love with sitting across the table from you.

Re: So, ten minutes into the new season

True they were broken up, but I guess that I see this differently. If somebody can move on that fast(less than 24 hours), did they not think that much of the relationship to begin with?
