Supernatural : First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

This deserves it's own thread especially while the others are giving rave reviews, 8s, 9s 10s. What are you guys smoking? SN was never about depth but they always were great in pulling off the most inane concepts charmingly but this episode was so stupid I felt like they ran out of ideas now.

Did they move the good writers to Riverdale or something because that was horrible.

First of all there was absolutely no point in them getting captured like that. No point at all. The entire episode I was waiting for them to do some plot twist, like maybe there's someone in that prison that they need to find.

But noooo, they were actually captured so stupidly. BOTH of them.

Then it gets better, they actually LOST ALL HOPE AND ARE COMMITTING SUICIDE AFTER 6 *beep* WEEKS in isolation. And then it get's stupider, Dean saying that it was worst than being in hell, and in turn it was worst for Sam than being tortured by the devil!!!

WTF! They get meals, a bed, they can do whatever they want, jerk off, exercise. You know like normal prison.

There are people who spent years in prison, weeks/months in isolation during that time.

And they gave up so uncharacteristically, abandoning their friends and people they could be helping, calling it quits?!?!?!?

What's more wtf don't they just DIE, DIE. Why even use Billy? They didn't even have a day.

Crowley knows Satan's offspring is coming and as he said those brothers always managed to win against powerful beings and he does nothing? Another character assassination.

This episode blows. Hard. I can't think of any other episode that's as bad.

The whole season with the Leviathans and Dick was really really bad, especially the lame way that Jim Beaver got killed off by a lucky shot going through two aluminum panels and a full van door for a head shot. That was a magic bullet.

Re: First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

Oh, surely there have been worse. Some episodes succeed by simply moving the season forward. They got rid of Billie, they've added federal prison to the boys resume, Mary has committed to hunting and the BMOL Well they still suck.

Time has moved on in a believable fashion and the Spawn has had time to gestate.

And the editing, pacing and action worked. It won't be a favorite of mine but my hope is that it set things up for the remainder of the season.

Worse than that awful found footage Werewolf episode? I think not.

Re: First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

Agree that one was horrifyingly awfully bad.

Re: First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

No. Hammer of the Gods remains unchallenged.

Re: First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

It's not the Worst, but one of the worst!
The other writers would never let Sam and Dean go like this for sure. It's very unlike our boys to be captured and commit suicide. Yes one of them can sacrifice himself for the other but not like this. It's just a freaking cell! NOT HELL!

Anyways, the last few episodes killed me, first they forget how to fight and let everyone kick their ass and now they suddenly remember how to defend themselves.
I have a feeling it's going downhill from here.

Re: First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

It was a decent episode, though I've set the bar much lower than earlier seasons, so there's that

Re: First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

Yes! The seasonal sliding scale!

Re: First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

Why? You do realize this is a filler episode.. anything goes. Everything in it is set to have a short closed off story. Its not meant to make sense. Its just fun. I liked it. What i hate about these is cas has no power to help and no one else does anything than wave their arms about theres about a billion ways they could locate them but never even try lol I suppose the writers wanted to ground this episode.. Cas is sort of human and not even an angel with all his feelings. everyone just seem so helpless.. Sam and dean go through hell.. in THY literal form.. 2 months in solitary and they break like little girls I mean by now you must understand that his episode isnt meant to be taken seriously. Its just one of those simpson episodes where they get 1 million dollars and by the end of the episode theyre back to square 1.

Re: First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

Why do people keep assuming they were 'broken' or suicidal? They knew they were not getting out of that situation. Sure, Dean said being in isolation was worse than Hell, but neither of them looked broken. Like Sam said, this way, one of them got to keep fighting. They had no guarantee of escape, even with the deal, but at least they got to go out fighting. I liked it.

Re: First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

How were they going to go out fighting? Their previous deaths they were killed outright, here Billie would have flipped a switch and then they're dead.

They wanted to kill themselves because they were bored. What a mess up way to go.

Re: First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

Locked in those cells they had no chance. Bargaining with Billie, they at least had the chance to escape and one of them gets to keep fighting (Sam's exact words as a matter of fact). But yeah, don't let what actually happened on screen interrupt your fun.

Re: First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

It was a mediocre episode that happened to have an awesome ending (Cas killing Billie and his speech immediately afterwards). Far from the worst episode, but to each his own.

Also: kinda funny, the actress is going to play Billy's mom in the upcoming Power Rangers movie. Going from playing a person (reaper) named Billie, to playing the mother of a person named Billy.

Re: First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

I didn't buy that speech. Sounded forced and just weird and three of Winchesters all have that blank look on their faces, wanting him to stfu.

I'm indifferent with the Billie killing, that needed to be done or we'd have some more escape from hell/heaven/purgatory bs.

Re: First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

This wasn't a great episode, that's for sure. But why is it that so many who've posted here believe that Dean and Sam intended to commit suicide? I don't. They were locked in separate cells and, according to what they'd been told, would remain locked up and isolated until they broke but since neither one of them intended to break, that meant they'd remain there indefinitely. They didn't want to die. They simply wanted out, but there was no way they could break out on their own so Dean called upon The Reaper to help. He asked her to kill them, but not permanently just long enough for their jailers to believe they were dead and move their "bodies" out of their cells. I'm pretty sure he believed wherever they were taken afterward would be easier to escape from since dead bodies are no threat and wouldn't need to be heavily guarded.

Re: First Blood was the WORST SN episode ever

People are posting suicide because that was the dealfor one of them.

Billie only helped them because she was guaranteed one of them to go with her at Midnight because of the blood oath.
