If IMDB sticks to their guns and closes these boards.

Re: The final what have you been listening to thread?

I bought 3 Puccini operas that I didn't have: Turandot, Manon Lescaut and La Fanciulla del West second hand. Interestingly, my email tells me I bought a Turandot in late 2015. But I don't remember it and never ripped it. The item I bought doesn't list 2CDs in the title and I never buy highlights from an opera. It is a mystery what item it is, and if I did buy a Turandot I'm not sure it ever arrived so may have gotten lost in post. It was only $5 AUD whatever it was. Maybe they made a listing mistake and called Tosca Turandot, of which I have two versions. I'm always confusing their titles personally.

Re: The final what have you been/are you now listening to thread?

Poinsettia
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b8b0NzETpLE

An extraordinary tough time sleeping. Took me 5 hours to get a moment of sleep then 30 minutes later I awake to the sliding door slamming 5 consecutive times. Given I reportedly snore (sleep apnea), it is possible that it was done intentionally to break me out of my sleep since I would have been known to be sleeping. It is possible the door fell off the railing, but then again it is unlikely it would be fixed so suddenly from 5 quick successive knocks like that and you don't fix it by rolling it shut 5 consecutive times, it needs to be be hit consecutive times and not in as quick succession as that. Took me a couple more hours to get back to sleep and I slept for several hours before being awoken to something smashing again. When it isn't heat denying me of sleep, it is people.

I try my best to be as quiet as humanly possible, while others seem intent to mind *beep* me as humanly possible. This is why I removed myself from the organ donor registry. People just seem intent to make me as miserable as possible in my living years even to the point of being covered in my own blood and self-harming in my sleep which they are conscious of because of unrespected PTSD-like triggers. Denying me sleep means I am perpetually too tired to do a bunch of other stuff I'd like to do before I die; stuff that makes me happy, stuff I consider goals and if I don't get them done I get in a panic. I won't dare harm another living thing and I don't possess even so much as a pocket knife, but they are not getting my organs when I die. Or if they do, they are going to have to illegally strip my body and if they are found I hope they get a stint behind bars. In life I am not allowed to be happy through their emotional cruelty, why should they? My human nature to be on the registry prevailed against these factors for several years, but everyone has their breaking point. I always thought I owed people something, but I realized over time I am less at fault for the situation than I believed.

I am considering more Hitomi Shimatani but most of the songs I seem to like of hers are on the album I bought. The choice is not easy. I really like Poinsettia and her use of traditional music from a variety of cultures in even her ordinary songs. Poinsettia is on a 7 track EP which I can get which also includes an acapella version of Amairo no Kami no Otome which I like. In fact, I don't care for the non-acapella version of that song which features an irregular 'trippy' beat that ruins most of her songs. I can also get Poinsettia on a collection but I miss the acapella version of this other song. Furthermore, the reverse of the normal situation is true: for some reason the pre-2003 'best of' hasn't remastered the audio (destroyed it through loudness compression) of this particular song, in fact the pre-2003 'best of' appears to somehow have the superior audio. But I don't like buying non-special editions of albums from this seller as they usually show up and make me regret buying the ordinary version and the 'best of' isn't that. At least with the barebones EP and all the albums preceding the one I have they do not have special editions to make me regret my purchase, but most of the discs are in unacceptable condition. In previewing the other albums, the only other song that stands out to me is J.U.M.P. and it's not on the 'best of' collection so it is looking more likely I'll go the expensive route and buy multiple albums.

In what setting will you continue to talk to yourself once this place is gone?

Re: The final what have you been/are you now listening to thread?

Please refrain from posting here on this thread.

People are trying to have conversations with themselves and you're ruining the mood.

Re: The final what have you been/are you now listening to thread?

I am sorry. I have been walked in on before and I know what that is like.

Re: The final what have you been/are you now listening to thread?

This is why he removed himself from the organ donor list!

Re: The final what have you been/are you now listening to thread?

I'd like to tell you I will really miss these threads where you constantly reply to yourself over and over again.

These threads are exactly what IMDb is all about; people connecting with themselves to discuss things with themselves.

Re: The final what have you been/are you now listening to thread?

An invite to posters here, I have set up my own IMDb tribute and you are all welcome to continue on there. It may prospectively hopefully delay the inevitable (the few people losing interest who've probably already done so), but it will always be there for you:

http://s15.zetaboards.com/IMDb_tribute_Gooey/topic/10124421/1/#new

I do not intend to personally neglect this thread. I want to post here and I want you to post here, too! I'm just putting this out there for you.

I just get the feeling that maybe IMDb will backtrack as the realization of them getting rid of thousands of loyal fans dawns on them and the fundamental usefulness of these boards to promoting and selling movies.

Thank you for the invitation and for establishing an alternate site for posters to continue enjoying and sharing music, Gooeey.

Other posters have moved on to other sites, but I intend to remain and do appreciate that you have not abandoned ship.

I've been reasonably sidetracked that the noise beside me over the last 4 days hasn't been getting to me so much, but now I can kick back it's beginning to gnaw at my soul.

Hitomi Shimatani - Amairo no Kami no Otome (Winter A Cappella Version)

REMOVED: I think it is karaoke.

Can't test out the link because I dare not remove the ear muffs for even a moment. But going by the comment, it sounds like it isn't a karaoke...

This was my song of the day yesterday. Like the uploader, I agree this version blows away the original.

Re: The final what have you been/are you now listening to thread?

Most noise induced self-harm in about a month, but it was minor in contrast. I was also awoken twice hours apart just after going under, preventing me from getting sleep that I needed. My eyes were not seeing clearly, had halos and I wasn't allowed to sleep which usually makes my eyes better preventing me from having a period of productiveness.
