The Big Bang Theory : Back to School
Re: Back to School
1.I agree that Amy would make the best teacher. She is extremely patient and of course, very bright.
2.If the study group involved doing a project together I'd say Amy. She'd help and not leave me with all the work. She'd also be receptive to ideas and not try to dominate it.
3.Hmmm that's a hard one. Can I say "Breaking Bad"? Walter was a chemistry teacher and he taught Jesse how to cook great meth!
I don't think I've ever looked for frogs under my butt while I was wearing my Snow White gown.

Re: Back to School
1. Emily - She could teach Anatomy and Physiology and would enjoy dissecting the cadavers.
2. Howard - I'd love to see the teacher react to the remote-controlled Stephen Hawking rolling around the classroom.
3. Back To School. Out of respect for Rodney.

Re: Back to School
1. I'll also go with Amy.
2. I'd actually go with either Leonard or Bernadette if my purpose was to get stuff done. Goofing off, definitely Howard or Penny.
3. Given the fight I had to break up yesterday at school and the ongoing issues with my paycheck, the movie Teachers comes to mind. You really wish things weren't actually like that in schools, but they are. And worse in many cases. Nowadays, it's not enough the parents don't give a crap about their kid's education; now they want to fight you for giving their snowflake a bad grade, no matter how much proof you have to back you up.
But I'll leave this on a good note and mention the three teachers I liked the best in HS. Mr. DiStasio (freshman honors Algebra), Mrs. Adams (pre-calc), and Mr. Keane (physics).

Re: Back to School
1. Oh, definitely Amy. She'd be an excellent teacher.
2. I could work with Leonard on a class project, but not Bernadette. She's too insanely competitive.
3. Harking back to my long-ago adolescence, "To Sir, With Love". I was mad about all things British and Sidney Poitier equally

Re: Back to School
In 1930, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives, in an effort to alleviate the effects of the Anyone? Anyone? the Great Depression, passed the Anyone? Anyone? The tariff bill? The Hawley-Smoot Tariff Act? Which, anyone? Raised or lowered? raised tariffs, in an effort to collect more revenue for the federal government. Did it work? Anyone? Anyone know the effects? It did not work, and the United States sank deeper into the Great Depression. Today we have a similar debate over this. Anyone know what this is? Class? Anyone? Anyone? Anyone seen this before? The Laffer Curve. Anyone know what this says? It says that at this point on the revenue curve, you will get exactly the same amount of revenue as at this point. This is very controversial. Does anyone know what Vice President Bush called this in 1980? Anyone? Something-d-o-o economics. "Voodoo" economics.

Re: Back to School
1. Who on the show would make a good teacher?
Bernadette. She is patient but also scary when required.
2. Who on the show would you like to be in a class or study group with?
Howard!
3. Lots of movies have been made about teachers, classes and students name one you like or not like and say why. Or a song, or book. Or some actual teacher or class you had.
I dislike Julia Roberts in Mona Lisa Smile as she clearly allowed her own personal beliefs on what a woman SHOULD be influence her teachings. Anne of Green Gables became a teacher in the later novels and then a writer, she came across as a wonderfully nurturing teacher.
To you, Baldrick, the Renaissance was just something that happened to other people, wasn't it?

Re: Back to School
1. Amy
2. None of the above. I'm auto-didactic. They're smart but someone like Leonard would probably whine about his mother.
3. It's about time for a re-watch of 400 Blows.

Re: Back to School
1. Amy. She would be an amazing science teacher. She's already done so much through Nova. You can just see what her style would be.

But I also feel Stuart would make a great art teacher. I really like his art. I wish they'd give him some success on the show through his art so he wouldn't be such a sad sack.
2. Never Howard or Penny unless I wanted to flunk the class. Anyone else.
3. The best high school movie ever for me is The Breakfast Club, but that's the perfect example of a bad teacher. I'm not sure if that's what you're going for. Stand and Deliver is pretty good. Edward James Olmos gave a good performance in it. Remembering "A negative times a negative equals a positive" is a good way to live.

Re: Back to School
1. Amy, maybe, but she's extremely boring. Howard too, I think. He'd make learning more fun with songs and stuff.
2. Anyone but Sheldon.
3. Stand And Deliver, with Edward James Olmos & Lou Diamond Phillips, based on real story.

My answers
1. Amy, because she would have that old timey school marm way to her and Bernie because no one would mess with her.
2. Howard, because he would shoot spitballs at the teacher or Penny so I could cut classed with her and go tip cows.
3. Gosh so many teacher movies and so few I want to revisit
Maybe "The Paper Chase"
