The View : Legitimizing Lying

Is this what the world has come to now? "Alternate Facts" are the new truth, even when they are lies? It doesn't matter if you support Trump or not. Why has justifying and legitimizing outright lies suddenly become okay?

You're right, zabbree. Doesn't matter who's done it before, or which side does it more in our own personal worldviews. Those whom we've elected to serve us should be accountable and transparent, and to all citizens.

I would like to add one thing. Media covering politics in this nation should also be held to far stricter standards of accountability. And that includes not just rushing to release reports without foundation, but choosing to parse statements in either the most benign or malevolent way possible, depending on which public official made the statement. There has been much senseless harping over the airwaves and on the internet concerning what in the end have been relatively trivial matters.

I agree. I think it's disgusting that they don't just present facts. People bash shows like The View, but they have never pretended to be anything more than an opinion and entertainment. I don't care if it's CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc. they should be reporting facts if they want to be called a news network.
