Schizopolis : this movie is the best

I've seen Schizopolis about ten times now and I think it's great. THANKS MR. SODERBERGH FOR ALL THE LAFFS.

You got that right, it ranks up there with my favorites.

I hate Soderbergh's big-budget commercial work, but I love this film!

I suppose it's worth the bad films if he can get cash for these wonderful, weird films.

Forgive me, but I'm not entirely sure you understand this film, or know very much of Soderbergh's work. The language, along with almost every 'whacky' thing in Schizopolis serves to illustrate a point about mankind, and our nature as humans. As regards the Soderbergh catalogue so far, I can't think of a single weak link, with the possible exception of Gray's Anatomy, which while original and engaging, was a departure. Still, maybe you could explain what it is you draw from Schizopolis, and why you hold it so much higher than his 'commercial' stuff. I assume at the moment you're just not a fan of the genres he visits.

well put. so many people who comment on soderbergh's films on these boards sound like they miss most of the depth in his work. it's good to see another true soderbergh fan.

Mistaking a low budget with authenticity is certainly silly, but privileging Soderbergh's depth over his humor in the movie is downright pretentious. relaxI hardly think that by desiccating schizopolis' more bizarre and hilarious aspects into "poignant" aphorisms on human nature, that you somehow understand the movie more than a guy who finds it funny and better than some of soderbergh's more questionable big studio flicks (like, uh, traffic or oe11).

don't be such a snob. this movie is great because it has depth, symbolism and all that stuff AND is wacky and fun.

Too true! This truely is a great movie. And after watching it, it makes a lot of sense that Soderbergh is the executive producer for Naqoyqatsi! =D

i would have to agree with you there. I just watched schizopolis for the first time and it was hilarious but i felt like i missed a lot of what he was trying to say, going to have to watch it a few more times.

Until I got the internet I wasnt sure if I had made this movie up in my head as some sort of wild and crazy dream. This movie was great. My favorite part is when he runs into the mattress store and goes nuts.

God, I love this movie.

This movie is amazing. It was one of the first movies I bought once realizing I could get a distributors discount. I was worried at first because the box didn't really sell it, but it stuck in my head. After viewing it the first time, I turned around a few days later, had one of my friends view it, and then a few days later showed it to another friend.

This movie is among my favorites!! I love Soderbergh. I like some of his big budget stuff. The Ocean movies are fun and what not, but this is amazing!!! I don't know why we hear more about sex,lies,and videotape than we do of Schizopolis. Low budget-Amazingly edited-Beautifully written-Well acted.

Just got to the first time Soderbergh appears in the windbreaker! This movie is amazing.

Every time I bring up this movie with my film nerd friends, I get shaming looks. So glad I am not the only maniac who loves it.

Bring back old school indie weirdness, IFC!

And I agree with whoever back there said a film can be frought with deep symbolism and still be screamingly hilarious.
