Season of the Witch : Why save the kid on the bridge??????????????????????????????????????????

Why save the kid on the bridge??????????????????????????????????????????

If this evil deamon had an evil master plan and played it out (almost) perfectly to get transported to the book..
why the *beep* would it save the kid on the bridge?
the kid who brings it down in the end.. he should not be there... he should be at the bottom of the canyon they crossed..
But noooo the deamon for some reason chooses to save him? with one hand?
So if saving him was in order to look good.. why look super über witch powerfull while doing it?
gaaargh

Re: Why save the kid on the bridge??????????????????????????????????????

In hindsight, it was a dumb move. Maybe at the time the demon(he/she/it?) thought the kid could be useful for his future evil schemes. Maybe it was because saving him will grant him sympathy/trust points with Behmen; since he was being manipulated since the very beginning. Maybe it was to introduce a tiny bit of uncertainty.

Re: Why save the kid on the bridge??????????????? ????????????????????? ??????

Because it killed those opposed to it getting to the monks, and the kid would be the one person who would definitely fight for justice. He had a pure heart, so if the priest (the only other one who would be bent on this) happened by an accident, then the boy would take up the banner. Remember also that 'the witch' was trying to put each of them at odds. An act of kindness makesthem wonder again. I don't think the demon had any way of knowing it would be the boy who encompassed his doom

Re: Why save the kid on the bridge??????????????????????????????????????

I think it was all about ensuring there'd be enough hands aboard to actually get the girl/demon to the monastery. I think there were moments too, where the demon wasn't always in control of its host body. Thus Kay caught some slack from the demon.🐭
