The Insider : Incredible
Re: Incredible
Wigand.
There is a scene in the movie where Bergman says: "Normally, you never get whistle-blowers from up high. This guy (meaning Wigand) is the ultimate insider. He has something to say, I want it on '60 minutes'." (The quote is not verbatim; I quoted from memory.)

Re: Incredible
very good point. I'd like to think the direction the movie goes in the second act they were both insiders.thanks for the input
Re: Incredible
I don't think there's anything "insidery" about Bergman. Yes he's pretty much left to fight on his own by the rest of the CBS team, but it doesn't make him an insider.

Re: Incredible
idkrespectfully I think the title has a double meaning. I know Crowe is the whistleblower and suffers tremendously for it, but Pacino's actions at the end makes him somewhat of an Insider as well. I know I'm being redundant and saying the same thing in this thread and maybe I'm wrong but it's just my opinion
Re: Incredible
I do see your point. Bergman went behind CBS's backs after all. I just think that, as someone previously said, the fact that Bergman himself called Wigand 'the ultimate insider' is why it's referring to Wigand.

Re: Incredible
I appreciate you not name calling or anything. It was my first time seeing it and after just viewing it a second time I'm actually gonna side with you. Wigand definitely. Again, thanks for not being a dick about it
Re: Incredible
I also just saw it. Great film. I did however read there are some inconsistencies with what happened in real life as oppose to in the movie. Which is why I did gave it a 8/10. Although I do get that movies should focus on the emotional impact of events and not so much the boring details.
Re: Incredible
No "bio pic" reflects "actual" history 100 percent. Not even documentaries do that. Nor are supposedly "realistic" films actually realistic.
That shouldn't be the standard.
