Chapter 27 : Interesting, Well-Made Movie. However, One Question Remains…….

Interesting, Well-Made Movie. However, One Question Remains…….

.. historically speaking, was it completely accurate?

In particular, Mark David Chapman's (Jared Leto) interaction with the "Jude" (Lindsay Lohan) character, and his supposed meeting with Sean Lennon (Yuuki Hosokawa) and the nanny, Helen (Le Clanche DuRand)?

It's amazing to watch this film now, almost 30 years later, and to note how quickly all the sad details from those dark days immediately came flooding back, as though this were something that had happened just yesterday. And from that which I do recall, it appears the filmmakers stuck very closely to the events as they actually occurred.

However, the two things I can't recall, are anything involving the "Lennon groupie" (as portrayed by Lohan), and whether or not Chapman actually met Sean Lennon, as depicted in this movie.

Anyone?

No one met with MDC or had contact with him.
Archived interview footage was used for information on the 3 days preceding
the murder. The screen play was based on those recollections from MDC

He probably made it all up or imagined the people.

From MDC's wikipedia: At one point, a distracted Chapman missed seeing Lennon step out of a cab and enter the Dakota building on the morning of December 8. Late in the morning, Chapman met the Lennons' housekeeper, who had just taken their five-year-old son Sean for a walk. Chapman conversed with the housekeeper and shook hands with the boy as they departed.

So yes, he did really meet Sean and the nanny. But I'm pretty sure Lindsay Lohan's character is made up, probably as an extra person to help tell the story maybe, if that makes sense.
