The Twilight Zone : The Thing About Machines.
Re: A Thing About Machines.
It's possible RS meant that character Bartlett Finchley
( played by actor Richard Haydn )
was never to be ready or ever embrace
the age of modern appliances or
electronics no matter what his situation was with it .

Re: The Thing About Machines.
I took it to mean that if he'd been born earlier, he would have pre-dated machinery and not have had to deal with machines at all. If he had been born later, it would have been a period where machinery was so commonplace that everyone would have been used to them, including himself. He would not have remembered a time when there were a lot fewer machines. In either of those time frames, he would have been happier and he would not have had his problem of hating machines.
What did Rod mean when he said Mr. Haydn was either born too late or too early?
Re: The Thing About Machines.
Actually Finchley hated people, and the inability to control them like he could a machine. But his hatred for people grew to a point where he could no longer control even the machines around him.
Re: The Thing About Machines.
What was the significance of the police remarking that Finchley had sunk in the pool? This was a notable thing they discussed, why would he sink instead of float?
