Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
The rooftop scene WAS shot on a rooftoponly with a green screen set up around them so they could color-separate a fake city scape into the picture.

Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
9. There actually was candles, music and a sexy dress, the cameraman and soundman just didn't manage to capture it.
Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
10. Tommy really did have an atomic bomb off-camera at the birthday scene so the actor had better motivation when he said the line.
Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
11. There wasn't a psychologist actor swap. The first actor just mutated into a new look.
Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
12. Denny purposely stresses the initial in Chris the drug dealers last name. He does this because just off frame in the scene there happened to be another Chris on the roof top at the time playing basketball with Denny. So for the sake of the two Chris's, he labels the drug dealer Chris R.

15. Juliette Danielle (Lisa) is actually a sociopath.and can't love anyone.
Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
In an attempt to cross-market the film with a major conglomerate, the Disney Store allowed for their image and likeness to be used in the background when Tom Wiseau walks around San Francisco, on the way to his party. In exchange, the Disney Store agreed to carry and promote their limited line of Tommy Wiseau plush dolls. Legend has it that there was a massive recall when it was deemed that the dolls were actually "alive" and prone to fits of passion and violence, such as lifting up television sets and throwing them out windows. Some dolls managed to escape the recall and are currently in hiding, waiting calculating plotting for their next move.

Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
17. Wiseau insisted that the actors partook in actual intercourse to make the sex scenes more realistic. He further insisted that the actor playing Denny would be present on the set whenever Johnny and Lisa had a sex scene, so his character's voyeuristic nature would be more believable.
18. Wiseau wore a mask throughout the hole movie.
19. Wiseau had a hair fluffer on the set to make his hair beeautiful again between takes.
20. Wiseau recieved money off the "Womens' Breast Cancer Association" under the condition he'd make the subject an integral part of the movie.
21. Lisa actually didn't care.
22. The story of "The Room" is based on Wiseau's life and how he successfully committed suicide.
23. During principal photography a tragic accident occurred in which Wiseau was handed a loaded firearm instead of a prop gun. His brother Timmy Wiseau was hired as a double and has since taken on his identity to perform at The Room screenings. Though, there are persistent rumors he is one of many identical clones.
24. There were originally a lot more football scenes in the rough cut of the movie.
Johnny's only friend would be a football named Wilson, whom he would tell all his feelings. In fact, all scenes of him interacting with Wilson were filmed. During the final cutting process he went to the theater to see "Cast Away", after which he immediately decided to drop all of those scenes out of scare of being sued by Robert Zemeckis.

Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
26. There was a subplot about Lisa's mother undergoing cancer treatment and getting molested by her lesbian doctor. But while editing, Tommy realized the footage was blurry and had no sound AND he had already killed the actress who played the lesbian doctor and dumped her body in the bay, rendering the footage useless.
27. This film was financed by the thought-defunct San Francisco chapter of the Church of Satan, where Tommy is the High Priest.
28. A long scene detailing Johnny's love of spoons was cut. It featured him walking around the city taking pictures of spoons on restaurant tables. This was cut because the restaurants refused to sign release forms during shooting.
29. Denny's apartment was a crawl space underneath Johnny's apartment. There were supposed to be numerous scenes of Denny lying under the floor listening to Lisa and Johnny argue while crying/masturbating.
30. A scene towards the end revealed the flower lady as Denny's birth mother was cut. The doggie was Denny's father, turned into a dog by Johnny's magic powers.

Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
This film was meant as the unofficial Men In Black 3 as "Doggie" is actually Frank from the first two filmshe's working in San Francisco, keeping an eye on alien-on-Earth Johnny
However, the budget was cut back so much they couldn't afford the voice actor or any effects so the film became about the alien trying to relate to human beings and failing.

-Tommy/Johnny actually did get the promotion at the bank.
-The psychologist character was played by a real psychologist who later needed professional psychological help to help him deal with his on set experiences.
-The answer to the eternal question 'What is life all about?' is actually an inane story regarding some idiot losing his boxer shorts.

Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
The "Me Underwears" guy is the REAL brains behind this movie.
Having found Wiseau aimlessly wandering the streets of San Francisco saying "Oh, hai" to everyone and everything, he decided to use him as a "front" for a intentionally bad film. He wrote down whatever Wiseau said into a tape recorder about his imaginary friends and filmed it as described.

Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
Was it the same tape recorder that Johnny/Tommy used to bug his phone? And what was that all about anyway? Did he use a magic neverending tape that never needed rewinded, and why did it only record one call?

tommy wiseau often dosen't move his lips right to his words, and sometimes talks without moving his lips at all.
Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
31. That was actually Tommy's hair and not a mop he bought at a Kmart for $10.00 resulting in no money left in the budget for costumes.

41. 'Doggie' appeared in a sex tape shortly after appearing in The Room. It was three-way between himself, Beethoven and Scraps from Airplane.

42: Lisa was actually played by the bloated, unconscious, booze-riddled body of Britney Spears.

45. During filming 45 members of the cast and crew were killed in a bizarre plastic spoon incident. The pictures of spoons on the walls of the set are a tribute to their memory.
Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
46. This script as it was shot was initially the first draft of a Full House reunion show.
Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
47. Wiseau took secret acting lessons at Robert De Niro's apartment in New York in preparation for his demanding role. When offering him a 'thank you' credit in the film, De Niro threatened a law suit if his name was ever brought up in connection with the movie

Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
48. My dentist's neighbors friend's second cousin said that Tommy Wiseau used to work in a chemical factory. One day he had a horrible accident and fell into a vat of toxic chemicals making his skin scaly and gray, his hair black and greasy, and giving him a strange speech impediment.
Re: 50 Urban Legends about 'The Room'
49. Tommy Wiseau once landed a premier acting role playing Rachel's one time squeeze Paulo in Friends. Since that time however, he placed himself in a premature ageing device which made his skin the consistency of sandpaper, his features droop and all his suits look bumpy and crumpled. It also severely degraded his ability to speak, to form sentences and to look even remotely sane. Bizarrely though, the process left Tommy with the scrotum of a ten year old boy. A fact of which he is justifyably proud.
