The Best of Youth : how many intermissions?

how many intermissions?

I hear that this was supposed to be a 4 part miniseries.Does that mean that this movie has 4 intermissions?Of course the DVD release is basically split into two 3 hour movies but 3 hours is still too long.
I basically want to watch this in 4 sessions (1.5 hrs per session).Does watching it like this ruin the experience?

- Does watching it like this ruin the experience?
- No, don't worry. Just go to the loo before you start.

Re: how many intermissions?

I watched it in two sittings (part 1 and 2; 3 hours each) and was thoroughly into it at every moment. I've watched many 3+ hour films that have felt long and this really didn't. I didn't have the opportunity to watch it all in one sitting and don't regret not doing so, but I really wouldn't have minded it either.

Watching it in four sittings might be splitting it up a bit much IMO, but then again how can I really say. I do think the way it's split into two is at a perfectly good point in the story.

Re: how many intermissions?

I watched this movie like 2 years ago in 2 sittings. I took a break when the older brother goes touring.
I really, really enjoyed this movie. Might be the best movie I ever watched.
Thanks for your reply though :D

Re: how many intermissions?

If you want to watch in two hour blocks, like the original TV broadcast, basically just stop the 3 hour 'Part 1' at the 2 hour mark. Then watch the last hour of Part 1 with the first hour of the 3 hour 'Part 2'. Then watch the last 2 hours of 'Part 3'. Simples. smile.gif
