ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING was about a strong young woman and 3 charmingly precocious youngters getting into hilarious situations with some edgy (but not innapropriate) moments for a 1980s teen feature film. ADVENTURES IN BABYSITTING 2016 is about 2 uninteresting young women and 4 annoyingly precocious youngsters getting into unmemorable situations without any edgy moments that a Disney Channel T.V. movie can have (it has been proven). The makers completely missed the point of the original movie's musical scene. The characters improvised a blues song based on what they were going through at the moment. It made sense that were able to because the melody and rhythm were being repeated over and over and a band was playing it. Here, the characters have to improvise a rap song and, while a DJ plays the beat, they have to come up with the rhythm for the words. The transition from amateurs to experts is too fast. It's not believable and (worst of all) relatable. By the way, why rap music? Because it's popular among teens and remakes have to modernize things? Blues music wasn't popular among teens in 1987. The makers of that movie knew that they didn't have to talk down to the audience by using only modern elements. That being said, the remake is never downright boring. Also, Sofia Carson's performance is good and the song WILDSIDE is a guilty pleasure material.
