Terminator 2: Judgment Day : Better than Star Wars any day

Better than Star Wars any day

Agreed?

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

It's the greatest movie of all time!

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

I don't think this competes with Star Wars, but it's still a great movie.

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

Not the greatest but way better than Star Wars.

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

Which Star wars? There are seven. Its definetly not better than empire strikes back but definetly better than all the 2000s ones.

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

I like it equally as much as the OT. Way better than the prequels. A bit better than Episode 7.

Green Goblin is great! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1L4ZuaVvaw

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

Artistically speaking, The Terminator and T2 are better made films than the original Star Wars and Empire, especially after George Lucas pissed all over what made them great in the Special Editions.

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

Given this series has just as many ducks as it does good movies, i wouldn't be throwing stones

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

LMAO hell no! Star Wars is hands down better then T2 or any Terminator movie and I love the Terminator movies.

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

Are you kidding, Star Wars's George Lucas is like "Hey I am a crap writer and I need an idea for a story, hey look someone dumped a (insert medieval title) script in the bin. Well I'll just take out and change sword to light-saber all references to god to the force, all references to knights to Jedi. There ha ha laughing all the way to the bank."

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

His writing was only bad for the prequels, there was nothing like this when it came out. Were you alive in 77? Did you see it in the theater? Did you cry about it then too? Be honest.

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

No I was not alive in 1977.

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

It wasn't hard to understand that.

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

If you're going to boil a movie down to its essence, Terminator isn't much different. There's a child of prophecy, a knight sent to protect the damsel in a foreign land, a monster chasing them..

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

Fair enough. Fwiw, Star Wars was a game changer for movies. It laid down a marker which altered the entire culture of film and the manner in which they were made. SW especially had an influence on 80s films, the kind of larger than life films such as Terminator. I'm not talking about the story, just that Cameron was probably inspired to be a film maker by star wars and write something like this based on what he saw in Lucas' movie. It could be argued that there'd be no terminator without star wars.

Honestly, if there was no star wars, I think film would suck as a whole, thus I'd say it's much better than terminator because Star Wars' story, characters, themes, tone, originality and the overall universe it existed in, all just meant so much more than the terminator movies and was just so much bigger.

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

T2 couldn't exist without Star Wars. ILM was created to make SW and then used to generate income for Lucasfilm by providing FX work for other movies, including this one.

That being said, I don't think you can really compare them. SW is pure romantic fantasy vs T2 is more grounded in our reality.

Re: Better than Star Wars any day

No man. I'd say that they're comparable in Greatness
(I'm speaking only about New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, rest is garbage) (Including Return of the Jedi with Ewoks, unoriginality and lack of creative vision)

I'll put they in this way:
Empire Strikes Back
Terminator 2: Judgement Day
Star Wars New Hope
Terminator
