Super High Me : this movie kinda persuaded me anti pot

this movie kinda persuaded me anti pot

seriously, idk why

i smoke and was high watching this, and all i could think about was how passionate people are about it, seeing the protests, hearing bob odenkirk, and just physically seeing doug benson when he smoked and eveything, it made weed look bad, and reinforced all the stereotypes. i could not beleieve the people protesting the DEA, ITS ILLEGAL WHAT DO THEY EXPECT, they should be happy they only shut down 11 because it said there were like over 200 in 2006, probably much much more now.

it made me feel like a loser for smoking, because i look down on all those activist, i couldnt help but to be annoyed and offended by their efforts.
smoking is not that great.

according to the time, he could be in one place or... several

yeah you weren't lying about being high while watching the movie... ;) Just kidding, but seriously they did cover the precise legal reasoning behind their protest in the movie. Yeah something about the Constitution.... 10th amendment... powers not delegated to the Federal government.... starting to come back yet?

Smoke another one and read the Constitution someday...

Funny... the last person you'd expect to come down on activists is someone who is actually admitting to doing it.

Sorry thaus, but I don't think it's the smoking that's making you feel like a loser.

Re: this movie kinda persuaded me anti pot

Wow, you're a loser yourself, sir. The original poster was probably just referring to the cheesy vigor which people displayed with these protests, and that there were so many people there for hours, and they obviously didn't accomplish anything by being there so they are really just wasting their time.

And in the item you quote from him, I'm sure he's just saying that there is a DEA and their job is to do exactly what they were seen doing, so it shouldn't really be surprising that it happens.

I could understand your retarded misunderstanding of the original poster's point if the DEA had been abolished and there is a rogue faction of the federal goverment still doing this type of thing, but that's not the case. There's a very bold line between injustice and reality.

This movie did make smoking look bad. They should have done all of the tests and what not much more often, but I'm not sure if that would have saved it.

Re: this movie kinda persuaded me anti pot

Yes, The DEA was only doing what it is designed to do, but the issue at stake is not the DEA's mission and whether it is on task or not. This issue is Federalism, which goes back to state power vs. government power. As the poster before you said, the Constitution delegates powers not explicitly given to the government to the states. The state of California has legalized marijuana for medical use, but it is still illegal under Federal law. What they are protesting is not the DEA's action itself, but the Federal government's use of the DEA to forcefully take down state-legal institutions.

Reread what he said. He was not saying the protesters were being cheesy and wasting their time, he was saying that he thought it was stupid for protesters to protest a government agency doing what it is designed to do.
