Experimental and Avant-Garde : You don't need to have seen a DOGMA 95 movie to answer this question.

You don't need to have seen a DOGMA 95 movie to answer this question.

I read the rules of the manifesto. Most of them indicate that the purpose of the movement is to make a movie without any gimmicks (including making it black & white). But by doing that, you're making a movie that's different from the majority. Isn't that a gimmick?

I think you don't understand the gist of this movement. They were against individualist/liberal/bourgeois movie and meantime they meant that gimmicks were instrument for manipulating with people. One of there principle was rejection fraudulence.
