Documentary : THIS YEAR'S BUMPER CROP OF OSCAR POTENTIALS

THIS YEAR'S BUMPER CROP OF OSCAR POTENTIALS

I'm using this as a journal to keep track of the qualifying documents from this year for the 2017 Oscars, Best Documentary Feature.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF any of the following are on Hulu.COM or legally (free) on Youtube? There's the only two platforms I can stream here at work.

WATCHED by yours truly!

Re: THIS YEAR'S BUMPER CROP OF OSCAR POTENTIALS

NETFLIX QUEUED:
“Jim: The James Foley Story”
“Into the Inferno”
“Audrie & Daisy”

ALREADY SEEN:
“The Lovers and the Despot”
Holy Hell: This one borders on Razzie worthy.
“Everything is Copy – Nora Ephron: Scripted & Unscripted”
“Do Not Resist”
“Becoming Mike Nichols“

“OJ: Made in America”?! I don't get how it qualifies as it's a TV miniseries.

These already are having their theatrical release. If money or time wasn't an issue, I'd seen them already.
“Tickled”
“Weiner”
“Life, Animated”
“Lo and Behold: Reveries of the Connected World”
“Francofonia”
“Command and Control”

“Tony Robbins: I Am Not Your Guru” AND Amanda Knox? These guys are on Netflix but I'm not too excited to waste my time on either one.

Mapplethorpe: Look at the Pictures AND How to Let Go of the World and Love All the Things Climate Can’t Change”: I thought they already were on Netflix. The title sounds really familiar like I passed over it why looking for something to watch at home but never added it to my watchlist....

I should be watching "Amanda Knox" very soon.

Re: THIS YEAR'S BUMPER CROP OF OSCAR POTENTIALS

Just curious? Were you following that news saga when it was at its year+ long peak on the news cycle?

Re: THIS YEAR'S BUMPER CROP OF OSCAR POTENTIALS

I only heard about her story first time on Nightline last week.

Re: THIS YEAR'S BUMPER CROP OF OSCAR POTENTIALS

Turned out the documentary wasn't that great. I found the last third especially frustrating.

Re: THIS YEAR'S BUMPER CROP OF OSCAR POTENTIALS

Have only seen:

“The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years”
“Lo and Behold: Reveries of the Connected World”

But I have several other titles in my sights, mainly:

“Tower”

I was home from college at my parent's house in San Antonio, about 70 miles south of Austin. I was watching a re-run of an episode of "The Fugitive" about the middle of the morning on August 1, 1966 when the local channel interrupted the broadcast to report the sniper shootings from the observation deck of the tower on the University of Texas campus. Watching this unfold practically in my back yard is one of the strongest memories of those years that have staid with me.

mf

Trust me. I’m The Doctor.

Re: THIS YEAR'S BUMPER CROP OF OSCAR POTENTIALS

I like "The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years" a lot, and thought it was very well made.

Re: THIS YEAR'S BUMPER CROP OF OSCAR POTENTIALS

I Am Not Your Negro (2016) is being released on Feb. 3 in the US. But the current rating of 4.9/10 at 519 votes is painfully low. Is this pretty accurate depiction of the film's quality or is the film a victim of preemptive alt-right trolling campaign?
