It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia : Why is everything on VHS and Tape?

Why is everything on VHS and Tape?

I stopped using VHS pre-2005 before this series started. So is it set in the past?

Re: Why is everything on VHS and Tape?

No it us not. They don't waste money on new tgings when their old things work.

Re: Why is everything on VHS and Tape?

It's funnier. They all are kinda stuck in the 80s when they were kids. Cause they are basically grown kids.

Re: Why is everything on VHS and Tape?

The show is basically designed for people born in the early to mid '80s. In a society having nostalgia shoved down its throats constantly (by TV, film, games), the delivery is so natural that it doesn't feel like pandering, at least to this 30-something.

Re: Why is everything on VHS and Tape?

I wouldn't say it's designed for 80s people necessarily. The Glenn mac and Charlie are just from the 80s and pay homage. I do agree with how naturaly they do it making it work. I was born 91 so plenty of things they parody I didn't see but I feel like I had. Like with the secret to my success and ski academy things. Never saw them but I felt like I did
