The Real Housewives of Atlanta : Wow. The end of an era.

I joined imdb on January 4 2004 when I was 13 and have been posting on the forums pretty much constantly since, on the shows or movies I was currently watching. Like wow, what willl I do with my life? I'll miss the snark and shade of the Housewives board

I think I joined in 2010. I may have misunderstood the announcement but I was under the impression that they were just going to do away with the message board system, not the boards like this one where we chat about the shows with one another.

They said they're getting rid of the message boards, which means this one too.

Why? That would be stupid. If it's not broke then don't fix it.
That's one of the main reasons for even coming to this site. If they do take that feature away then they might as well go ahead and shut down the whole site. It will probably be like what they tried to do a few years back when you needed a credit card or a phone number to set up a profile and participate in the discussions. They lost a lot of users and you see they hurried and changed it back. Maybe someone should start a petition.

This reminds me of the the demise of TWoP forums. I loved that place, found this IMDN forums after they shut down. I mostly lurk, rarely post but I'm sure gonna miss this place

I still can't believe they're shutting the forums down. I discovered IMDB back in 1999, when I was in high school. When I was in college in 2000, I joined IMDB and started posting on the message boards (my current account doesn't reflect that because my initial account was started with my college e-mail address, and after I graduated, I couldn't access it anymore and I forgot my password after awhile). I've always loved coming on the message boards, and I can't believe they've only allowed two measly weeks to announce that they're shutting them down. I don't even go on IMDB's social media sites.

It is indeed the end of an era.

It's a shame as I think that imdb is a great way for studios to find out what audiences really think of their shows and characters apart from Twitter.

I've truly enjoyed my time on the RHOA board. It's the only one I frequent as the other shows I like are full of too many trolls (Mr Robot, Girls, Empire, Scandal and especially Orange is the new Black) and it turns out the reality TV show I love the most has had some truly outstanding posters, even the ones I never agreed with.

I will miss this board and a lot of the posters I've intereacted with.

Oh well. Life goes on.

Actually, I'll miss IMDb. I used to post on the RHOA board more frequently in the past, especially seasons 5 & 6, but I mostly lurk here now. Still, it's good to read the opinions of others. Oh well.
