Hawaii Five-0 : I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

Lou is such a worthless blob of fat.

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

Ilove both characters. max will be very much missed. bit Lou has become a team member. I enjoy his role on the show. I like jerry too, but I liked it better when he had a minor role.

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

I like Grover. Husband, father, married to a woman age appropriate for him. Not like the jail bait that Danno is involved with. It brings a different sense to the "Ohana" Seriously, how can anyone fall for the Melissa/Danno thing? She's young enough to be Grace's not too older sister.

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

'cause Danny is a hot and a lot of younger women find him so. My grandparents were thirty years apart and Grampie didn't look anything as near attractive as Scott Caan.

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

To each his own.

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

Ugh...Scott Caan is gross! Age difference means nothing to me either way, but ou can have him. He has the most ridiculous hairstyle! It's very hard to take anything he says seriously while looking at that hair! Plus I am sick of listening to him whine & complain about everything! Yep, he's all yours!

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

I like Lou character and repartee while i don't care much if at all about Max and other Eric Russo, stereotypical with basically the eccentric and the buffoon, moreover I am not fan of the actor monotonous dialogue delivery. Full disclosure i have never watched 'heroes' and thus I haven't seen the actor Masi Oka much if at all before Hawaii 50.

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

you should definitely watch Masi Oka in Heroes...as for Max's somewhat "monotone dialogue delivery", I think that's just how Max's character is suppose to be, there's really very little Masi Oka can work with his character because he doesn't have much to do on this show. Max is the medical examiner, so most of the time he just performs the autopsies and explain to the team what happened to the victims, in most episodes he usually just appears in 1 or 2 short scenes, and that's basically it most of the time.
But Masi had a much bigger and more significant role in Heroes so he had alot more to work with on his role in Heroes, his character on that show is a lot more fleshed out with more layers and Masi's acting is more dynamic in Heroes. With the very limited role he has on 5-0, it's quite difficult for Masi to really showcase his real acting skills. But we got to see more glimpses of Masi's acting range in season 2 ep 20 "Ha'alele (Abandoned)" which was a Max-centric ep, Max was alot more emotional in that ep. Have you seen that ep yet? If not then you should.

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

Yep i have seen that episode you mention, I have binge watched all seasons those last few weeks and i am as i write at s07e08. Rest assured that i won't judge the actor on that only role, it was just my two cents on his character relatively to the others there and i have absolutely no idea on how he played his others characters. I may have to watch 'heroes' sometimes down the road. :)

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

No way Grover is awesome and so is Max. I wouldn't want either one to leave

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

I like Lou. He's involved in the main storylines. While Max is just a clown on the show with the big guy from Lost. Like last week's episode when both of them did a unfunny 'help max move' part of the show.

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

how is Max a "clown" on the show? He's always serious and he just has an eccentric personality...which sometimes is used for comedic relief on the show...but Max himself is not really a "clown", because he's always serious...it's just that the show and the other characters tend to like to make fun of his eccentricity for amusement.

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

I'd rather keep Max & Lou, but get rid of Jerry. He's really useless. Sadly though, he'll get an even bigger part to compensate for the lost comic relief from Oka's absence.

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

Jerry was the show's backup if Caan decided to bail any of the last 2 seasons. I don't like him either.

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

I would rather it be Jerry. When Max left it made me realise just how much of a good and interesting character he was. Jerry isn't any of that except a nuisance.

You're a survivor arent you sidney?

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

Lou Grover is my favorite character and he starred in some of the best episodes of the whole show...

Firstly “Umia Ka Hanu” When Grover travels to Chicago to finally get a confession from his old friend Clay Maxwell about why he killed his own wife- I've never been so gripped to an episode on TV for so long before this one, it was really good.

The second episode was"Ike Hanau" When Grover's gut instinct has told him that Clay pushed his wife off the cliff. You are all led to believe that his wife slipped but Lou Grover never gives up and we finally find out on another episode he was actually right. That's what I like about Lou Grover; he is always determined, trusts his instincts and is a true cop.

Finally the other episode was "Malama ka Po'e" Where Lou's past catches up to him and he has to defend his family. This was another really good episode because we learn more about his past and he overcomes the Mob like a true hero.

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

I agree. I have always enjoyed the Lou-centric episodes. Even the Chicago one. I never understood why everyone was so upset with him. His behavior pales in comparison to some of the stunts McGarrett has pulled. Dangling a suspect over the edge of a roof and and so on? The only difference was him not being in Hawaii and under the protection of the Governor. Surely there has been other times when logic has been suspended for the sake of a story.

I feel the same way. I will miss Max.

On that note as far as the OP is concerned, I think Lou is a great character and fits right in with the team.

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

Agree.

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

I've never found the Grover character to be particularly likeable or believable. Love the actor and enjoyed all his other shows. But the Grover character, stumbling around in those big Hawaiian shirts with that clumsy Chicago back story while also being Captain Hawaiiman and telling all his weird stories... he's dead weight to me. Ain't never been a good organic fit to the show.

Re: I wish Max would stay and Lou Grover to leave..

I assumed he was brought on board to fill in the gaps when Scott decided to shorten the number of his episodes. Some of the excuses given for Danny's absences are starting to get pretty lame.
