Fringe : "We have six to eight seasons worth of material"

"We have six to eight seasons worth of material"

Apparently Jeff Pinkner said this. I was just wondering if he or someone else ever elaborated on what that would entail after the series ended. Like the last part with Walter crossing over with Michael is probably how they always intended it to end because of the parallel with Peter, but I don't think S5 as a whole is what they originally envisioned. And now I'm just really curious to know what else they might have done with the show...other than re-writing timelines over and over again.

Guess we'll never know, now will we?

Re: "We have six to eight seasons worth of material"

I heard the show played for 7 seasons. Over there.

Also Firefly got 5 seasons, over there.

I would definitely travel to the parallel universe for that.

I would go. And Joss Whedon has his own network and Stephen King will live forever

That sounds cool.

I'm glad that Fringe lasted as long as it did, but I kind of want to see what ideas they had for future seasons.

Re: "We have six to eight seasons worth of material"

I'd love to see it come back someday - there must be some story to play in trying to bring back Walter to "our" world. Whilst there was a certain sense of fate and poignancy to him crossing over, I liked the White Tulip ending as a sign that all hope is not lost to be reunited.

Re: "We have six to eight seasons worth of material"

I don't think it necessarily means they had more planned for after season 5. I just think the events of season 5 would've been pushed further back if they'd gotten more seasons.

Maybe having a season that builds up to the Observers invading. Then having another that focuses on how the Fringe team ends up in amber. And then the events of season 5 being the new season 7 or so.

So many stories, so little time.
