Johnny Test : Rip off of Dexters Lab/Johnny Quest

Never really watched it but it seems like a rip off of Dexters Laboratory (the twin sisters are scientists and resemble Dexter [red hair, glasses, smart]) and Johnny looks like Deedee [blonde hair, blue eyes, not intelligent]
Then the name of the show is a rip off of Johnny Quest (Johnny Test)

You need to watch the show and stop complaining about it. Hey, you might like it. If not, then don't come back here complaining about this show. Heck, you don't have a really good reason why you hate the show, you've never seen it.

Well, I've seen the show and here's what I hate about it.

-The animation is horrible. It looks choppy.
-The plots are predictable and they seem to recycle over and over.
-The humor feels forced and constant.

I couldn;t agree with you more. This is an awful show that seems to not be able to die. The jokes are awful, the characters are annoying, the animation is choppy, and the voice-acting is terrible, just to name a few. And Johnny's voice, HOLY *beep* IT IS ANNOYING! Whenever I hear it, I want to throw a pipebomb in the voice-actors house! (NOT A THREAT: It's just how annoying it is) And the most annoying thing is that everytime, EVERYTIME a character moves their arm, a whip sound-effect is used.

The name is the only apparent reference to Johnny Quest. Other than that, I'd say the show is half Dexter's Lab and half Fairly Odd Parents. And I do agree, the sisters are very Dexter-esque, with their red hair and particular shaped glasses. Johnny DOES resemble Deedee with the big eyes and his free spirited nature. Though his little misadventures remind me more of Timmy's from Fairly Odd Parents, but the only difference would be that Johnny uses his sister's inventions to prop him to go on these little escapades, while Timmy uses his wishes.

At it's core, this show is rather harmless fluff, but it isn't original, nor, IMO, significant enough to be seen as a truly noteworthy cartoon. It's like, how after Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, they came out with this slew of cartoons LIKE TMNT in concept. Biker Mice From Mars and Wild West Cowboys of Moo Mesa.

While the names do rhyme - "Johnny Quest" and "Johnny Test" - I see no similarities between the shows whatsoever.

The names of the siblings - John, Susan and Mary - are like a play on the most common names for people in the English language. Also, their last name - Test - is like "test subject". If you were going to name test dummies (for car crashes, nuclear bomb testing sights, etc), you would probably name them something easy, the first name that came into your head. These are possibly the most common names around (at least in our parents' generation), so would probably be the first ones that came to mind. Last but not least, these names would also make the test subjects generic - esp. since they probably won't survive the test you are about to perform on them. Who wants to blow up something named after their favorite actor or their best friend?

Just my opinion, of course. Take it any way you want.

Come on it isnt hard to see that this show either borrows, pays omage to, or rips Dexters lab off. I mean look at the Dad. Blond just like the Dad in Dexters lab PLUS they have the same green sweater and pants combo.

I watched this one day with my friends daughter and thought it to be one of the better cartoons one right now. It really does remind me of the early seasons of Dexter's Lab and had a similar sense of humor, I wouldn't be surprised if I end up watching it if I see it on.

Actually I think I know where the idea came from. Apparently it was from an episode of Dexter where he made a lab dog talk(Hence the talking dog) and the dog's owner(who looks like Johnny) Hint? hint?

both Dexter's lab and Johnny Quest (especially the New Adventures of Johnny Quest) are better than this crap. Cartoon Network has fallen to they're lowest of lows.

Just opted to watch the show for the first time in months, see them make a joke where the mayor calls Johnny, who has superpowers, to open a pickle jar.

Who cares,the show is funny as hell.

Actually, I'd like to respectfully disagree. Some jokes go really well, and others just make me want to shut the television off, walk outside into the road during rush hour, and stand there waving my arms around like a fool.

And jokes don't make a show. Very few shows can be funny without an overarching plot, or at least consistent storytelling to frame the jokes. This is one of those shows like Teen Titans GO! or the new Ben 10 (both of which I've watched many times, to my personal dislike), where there's no plot, and it focuses on how many jokes it can fit into an episode with no reason for them.

And it seems like plots are reused and rehashed so often I notice that before anything funny. Seeing the same predictable endings and twists detracts from the humor for me and many others.

If you ever seen at least 1 episode,you would have seen that is nothing like Dexter or Johnny Quest,noob.Is one of the funniest shows I`ve ever seen,give it a try.
