Bones : The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
I lost the will to live
Jeeeeez C.
B&B are officially dead in the water romantically wise
Booth gets written off half the ep WTF
Aubrey is the most unoriginal character on TV, they basically just take B&B back story and lined and given it to him
I hate Karen
I hate Karen.
I hate Aubrey & Karen
I hate Karen & Aubrey doing most of B&B scenes. Most of Booth scenes
Don't care about Aubrey's dad
Yawn
I can't think of one good thing, except Fisher was funny & Booth looked hot
we only have 12 episodes and they give us that utter snore fest?
Man. I AM P*SSED

Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
-Brennan hating someone else's voice is just ironic
-Um the Angelatron can ID anyone, Bones
-Fisher always makes me smile, glad to see him always
-A fingerprint off a contact lens? Hodgins magic :)
-I know moms like this crazy mom. Parents make teaching difficult.
-Oh boy, his dad is that old and has a new kid?
-These two women, who go to crime scenes with gore and bugs and gross stuff all the time are shrieking over a spider??
-We know there is a work shower, Cam. Hodgins, Zach, and even Clark have used it!
-I bet many men have said that about Angela, Fisher. Many have been contemptible fools for trusting her lol
-Metal with leather means stairs?
-Conflict of interest having her lawyer's son be her student??? Is that allowed?
-This guy has the only sawed off shotgun in the whole area? They don't even have the actual weapon, just Angela's recreation.
-Axel grease on the body??
-wait, so the guy fell down the stairs, died, and this kid somehow dragged him to a bad part of town (on his bike?) and somehow got the dead guy's roommate's shotgun?? Whaaaat!?
-Her skin is absolutely not thick. She gets so offended so fast! But I liked her interaction with Fisher
-Ugh I thought we might get some flirting at the end but they made it bickering. Boo.

To Michael Peterson, bickering = romance.
I thought I was kidding when I said said this last week, but I'm pretty sure at this point there will be no romance between B&B this season. We'll get bickering, strained conversations, and them sitting on the bench together at the end. That's it.
Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
Man. I AM P*SSED
I'm right there with you.
I can see now why Hart and Stephen distanced themselves from the show. I'm surprised Karine Rosenthal came back, but even she cannot save this mess.
Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
RIGHT?!
OMG
WHAT WAS THAT?!
I don't see how anyone who ships B&B can honest be OK with how they are written.
Somewhere outthere , there is a 80yr old couple going. "We are more romantic than them"
WTActualFck
Also?! This episode was not worthy to be in Bones finale season. How are they messing up B&B so badly?!
Where is Christine & Hank? Seriously even in S10 we had cute Christine plots by now
Guess shoving Karen in our face is more important. Guess newbie Aubrey's dad is more important than the LEADS family.

Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
My roommate came in and said, "How is Bones?" All I could muster up was a, "Meh."
It was so average, it hurt.
I'm mad at Emily and David for allowing this (obviously I'm already mad at TPTB). We KNOW they can bring the emotions even just by looking at each other.
Silly me, when Booth said there was one person who liked her reading, I thought he was going to wink at her, mean himself, and pull her towards the bedroom. SILLY ME.
How hard would that have been?
Yes, let's waste precious series finale time on a meaningless father who we will never ever see again. And female Sweets.
I did appreciate callbacks to Brennan's time in foster care as well as Booth's dad.
I also did like the fact that Bones found the word "boner" hilarious, but for anthropological reasons.
->BTW if Max is so sick, who's watching the kids?

Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
The more spoilers & interviews I read from Peterson & Collier the more I feel like it's their way or no way. They wouldn't even listen to Hart, two times that we know of..447 and series end. SERIES END.
They wouldn't let the creator Hart Hanson finish the show his way.
Let's all think about that
Their egos are running the show. Into the ground
No mention of the events of the last EP but hey let's bring Karen back! Booth your best friend got eaten by rats, a killer is hunting you down but let's give him nothing to do in the ep except listening to Brennan audio book. Brennan you make jokes about a boner and only care about your audio book. Don't worry guys about security or your lives being threatened: Boner jokes & audio books is top priorty!
Why was Karen even in this EP? She is getting more airtime than Christine, Parker, Hank & Max combined.. She is some 3 ep nobody That nobody cares about. If I see her again I am going to SCREAM
WHO IS THIS MAX & KIDS YOU SPEAK OFF?
Kids raise themselves and Max is only sick when he is dead - we need no narrative to fill in the blanks. How dare you ask!!
*rant/snark soap box off*

Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
This was a really "meh" episode.
1. Tied up the Aubrey's Dad storyline that I didn't care about. (Did anyone?)
2. Further established Delfs as even more annoying than Daisy. (Sara Rue was wonderful in Big Bang Theory. She's got nothing to work with here.)
3. Cam's phobic about spiders. Been there, done that.
4. Zero chemistry between Booth and Bones. Makes me want to rewatch seasons 1 through 6
5. Always glad to see Fisher. Guess this was his intern of the week swan song.
6. Somebody did the murder? As an afterthought let's make an arrest.
7. Will I stick around for the rest of the season. Yeah, in it for the long haul. It may get better.

Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
I'm still trying to figure out how this kid managed to pick up this dead weight guy and apparently take him to a bad part of town (I think he just has a bike to get around so how.????) and then somehow get the sawed off shotgun that belonged to the dead guy's roommate, shoot up the corpse, return said gun to the roommate without detection, clean up most of the evidence, and do all this by himself. Did the Gravedigger come back from her grave and help him??
As bad as the Puppeteer ending in sheer insanity.

HELL TO THE NO. Let me bring out my tiny violin for Aubrey. *eye roll*

Yup. What a great mantle: more annoying than Daisy. Can she just GO AWAY. And STAY AWAY.

Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
Yes - filler episode for sure. And we needed filler in the final season because????
Very disappointing! But hey, the final bit, B&B actually looked at each other and smiled! Wasn't it romantic!! LOL
And according to my head cannon, Brennan did NOT read her first novel to Christine. Christine had picked out a different book so she read one of her daughter's choosing and Booth convinced her to wait on her novels whilst alone making love in their bedroom. My head cannon and I'm sticking with it! I'm not gonna let Peterson and Collier ruin my fun!
Why is Sara Rue still around? I could see it if there was going to be a full season and another on the way..but not getting it at this point. Could DB have been sick again? Did they need her to fill in for him?
I liked the Booth/Aubrey bonding.
I really liked Fisher and Brennan, they did Fisher justice in what I consider his ending episode?
See for me, it's never been about the murder it's the people and mainly B&B!
What was with the woman sexually harassing Booth? She got more touchy feely than his wife..was that a statement on rich people thinking they can do as they please? Because the last time, her hubby wasn't watching, unless he was behind the glass..or was she making an offer for Booth to call her? Brennan noticed and didn't laugh her off like she did the old lady who pinched his butt! Tell me that isn't foreshadowing anything.that is my only worry about those exchanges.seemed odd that Booth never said anything. It didn't add anything to the case, just that the lady was pushy and sexually frustrated? High power job and all..perhaps I have thought too much about you know who! LOL
Cam - really? Such a collected person, but spiders render her helpless? And why wouldn't Hodgins just warn her.watch outI saw spiders crawling around? Just inserted silliness I guess.
Not Bones at it finest!

Agree! Booth in the shoulder holsters was hot and always appreciated!
I thought I was kidding when I said said this last week, but I'm pretty sure at this point there will be no romance between B&B this season. We'll get bickering, strained conversations, and them sitting on the bench together at the end. That's it.
I initially thought there was NO WAY we would not get B&B romance this last season. This was suppose to be a GIFT season to Bones fans. I should have known when Peterson said something like "Bones fans just want B&B kissing every 2 minutes". Wellhe has gone out of his way to give us NO romance, NO touching, NOTHING!! Does he think we all watch Bones just for the murder cases?? The recent cases have been sorely lacking also. NO romance, NO good cases to hold our interest. He is driving this last season of Bones into the ground.
Such a collected person, but spiders render her helpless?
LOL, I can relate to that though!!
Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
I think the bright spot last night was totally Fisher. I love him. I also love that Garfield makes the cut in his melancholy reading list. Garfield does pretty much hate everyone lol
I'd watch a Fisher spinoff. Since his last show, Forever, was prematurely cancelled, he could use a job. He could be like a House/Brennan hybrid and crankily solve all the cases. Some of the squinterns could round out the cast.

Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
So I'm just curious, this week has anyone heard about the other fans that kiss up to Peterson and Collier? Are they thrilled about this weeks episode and the interactions between B&B? No kissing no touching, that's OK with them?
Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
From what I've seen, even that crowd was lukewarm on this episode. I'm thinking of one forum in particularthere weren't very many people even bothering to discuss it, and of the ones that did several commented that this was a filler episode, but still enjoyable. Of course, there are always a few who LOVED THIS EPISODE it was THE BEST EPISODE EVER, etc
As far as Twitter goes, yes the hall monitors are still lecturing the "complainers" (meaning anyone who doesn't love every episode of Bones). One person blocked everyone who is complaining about the lack of affection between B&B because just the fact that they are married and have two kids is enough, and we should all just be happy or GTFO (their words, not mine). Also, according to them, kissing is not love? I get that kissing does not = love, but usually people who are in love kiss each other. Am I wrong about that? Did I miss something? Another person said that we shouldn't expect kissing because this is a TV show? Who are these people?
I didn't see anyone tweeting to Peterson or Collier. I don't think those guys are on social media very often anyone and I doubt that they really care what our opinions are, tbh. It kind of seems like no one caresnot the cast, the crew, HH, SN, Peterson, or Collier. I guess they are all on to their next projects.
P.S. It is slightly amusing to read those other forums where people try to find things to love about the episode. Same on Tumblr.

Apparently we should be super super excited that Booth had Brennan's book as an audio book off his own accord and he made HEART eyes at her for 0.5 secs
{points down} This!

We should stop asking for B&B to you know act like a married couple. That is beneath them.
On the flip side I have seen a lot more people getting p*ssed with how B&B is written. Just in comments alone

Yes, me too. This comment on TVLine is priceless. I wish I had written it.

If this final season of Bones is a gift to the fans, Id like the receipt so I can return it. B&B show no affection for each other, they barely touch. Aldo was turned into a heroin addict and killed off, it looks like theyre killing off Max, and now we have YET ANOTHER low in B/Bs relationship to look forward to, like the last three years havent been a series of one dumpster dive after another. These showrunners are the kind of people who give used socks for Christmas.
Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
This is GOLD!!
And we know they read the big media sites. Fox too. Sorry Peterson. Maybe regift?
Its refreshing to see peoples opinions and not ones that are moderated to death within their clique, don't go against party lines folks!

Yes, this was strange. I am also worried that this is some sort of foreshadowing. Maybe in episode 8 Booth is being moody and Brennan suspects him of having an affair so she turns to Sully, or something like that. I sure hope not. They already had her suspect him of looking for a new mate at the beginning of S9we don't need to see that again.
Any other theories about this women coming on to Booth?

There didn't seem to be much talk about this.was it all a joke? Why didn't Booth laugh or say to his wife (when she said weird) 'you don't know the half of it, I'll fill you in later'.
Booth made no comment to the lady. Which I found out of character.made me think maybe he's attracted to her? Weird exchange.
But they make Sully's arrival look like it's about Max's death. I sure hope Booth doesn't cheat - could you see P/C having them both cheat? Oh dear..we are probably making a mountain out of a mole hill.
Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
Since S9, every season has gone the same way:
- First up is the conclusion to the previous season's serial killer/final cliffhanger. It's unsatisfying, doesn't make any sense, and leaves numerous plot threads dangling. But, on to the next episode!
- Next is a few filler episodes with stupid plots and secondary character storylines that we don't care about.
- Time for the introduction of the next "big bad"! This of course negatively effects Booth and Brennan and starts their relationship on a downward spiral. Yes, it's Strained Marriage time!!!
- There's a horrible serial killer on the loose and the B's are having problems, so it's time for more silliness and irrelevant plot lines. Also, let's throw in random kisses, bedroom scenes, and romance for any couple other than B&B, because they are going through a Rocky Patch and things are in B&B land. Can't have them kissing or showing affection or anything crazy like that.
- Now we arrive at the "serious" episodes where the big bad shows up and really does some damage. B&B are still on the rocks so no affection between them, just strained and awkward conversations.
- Season concludes with a cliffhanger.
That's the pattern for the last three seasons. I really thought that with this being a last, short season we would get something different, but apparently not. The only thing Peterson is throwing into the mix are deaths for fan favorite characters and the return of an old (irrelevant) flame, just to make it even more grim
A final season, even thought it's a short one, was a precious gift that could have been so special. It's terrible to see episodes being frittered away on filler material, to see scene after scene with secondary characters we don't really care about (Aubrey's dad, Sara Rue, etc) instead of our leads, and to see no affection or romance from the couple that defined romance for so many years. So much potential wastedit's just sad.

It is amusing because I think.how are they gonna make this one sound fantastic!
I don't follow the hall monitors on twitter so I miss that stuff, but I did see something from Matt from TV Line yesterday about people not liking his Bones spoilers. Then some people explained they weren't complaining about him, but about Peterson who can't come up with a anything positive to say about B&B. Everyone KNOWS who gets married - that's the one 'happy' thing they keep reiterating.but frankly people really don't care about that wedding! So THAT is not what people want to hear. Matt did reply that he may have something GOOD coming down the pike for B&B. I know that's shocking - I hope he wasn't kidding!
The show runners are definitely in a major rut. I'm really very over the serial killer thing it's been way over done on the show. But the zero affection thing is becoming quite weird! LOL When a smile is the extent of it, it's very sad. Funny there is a new 1 minute clip of ED and DB at the TCA's talking about what's to come.THEY never mention Sully with the returning characters as something great to look forward to.
They really have missed an opportunity to do something unique and special with these episodes.it's just more of season 11 - very meh so far.

Lol, not at all! Especially on your birthday! Unless your marriage/relationship is headed for a breakup!

Totally agree with that post Estella! Really since HH left, the only really nice romantic scene/kiss between B&B was Season 10 opener written by SN & JC. We have got some nice hugs and some henpecks, but that is it and NOTHING since the nice hug in season 12 opener. B&B are adverse to even touching these days. You can really see the influence HH had on the B&B end scenes. (even fixing plumbing was romantic). I think the writers now are given an outline to follow, don't veer from it and absolutely NO romance between B&B is allowed!
LOL When a smile is the extent of it, it's very sad.
It is sad!! Every week we hope they will throw us a crumb.
Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
Emily is either pregnant again or gained a significant amount of weight. She doesn't look like she's comfortable. Pretty hard to fall on the bed with Booth the way she used to. I'm surprised the writers haven't dealt with this in some way.
Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
Fall into bed?! LOL.
We set our wish as low as B&B sitting side by side on the couch. Maybe even a quick glance.

Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
I agree that Emily just doesn't look comfortable with herself. Unfortunately, I do not think she is pregnant. She made some recent talk show appearances in NYC and never mentioned it. She squirmed so much on the AOL set that she knocked over some water. She definitely is having some issues with her post baby 2 body.
That would have to come with an ok from ED and she'd have to own up to the issue. So far that hasn't happened. And these writers and show runners show zero in the empathy/emotional departments.
I'm surprised the writers haven't dealt with this in some way.

I agree that Emily just doesn't look comfortable with herself.
And perhaps this is the whole basis for the wardrobe issues and lack of romance between B&B.
Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
Apparently we should be super super excited that Booth had Brennan's book as an audio book off his own accord and he made HEART eyes at her for 0.5 secs
I did notice those looks, I thought it was going to lead to a kiss but noooooo! That poster was right, if this is a gift I want a refund!
Regarding the lady coming on to Booth I did think it was odd, but I did not make anything of it. I hope they don't make something of it.
Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
She's gained weight since season 11. The kid is now almost 2 years old. There has to be another reason. Change in diet, illness.
Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
A final season, even thought it's a short one, was a precious gift that could have been so special. It's terrible to see episodes being frittered away on filler material, to see scene after scene with secondary characters we don't really care about (Aubrey's dad, Sara Rue, etc) instead of our leads, and to see no affection or romance from the couple that defined romance for so many years. So much potential wastedit's just sad
+1
After this EP, I am actually starting to upgrade the other four eps higher, lol. Seriously 12x3 was so much better than this ep, 12x4 too , for me anyways
What gets me is that they they could of chose any plot they wanted to for ep 5 & and they chose a audio book subpar plot for Brennan and Booth got nothing to do, in fact they give half his airtime away to Karen. What a lovely way to treat the leading man. Shouldn't Booth actually be you know dealing with Aldo's death, somebody trying by to kill him? How come that gets completely ignored but we get boring Aubrey's dad plot that nobody asked for.
Like you said these 12 eps should of been tight, they had since Feb 2016 to plan for the final season, what were they doing?
Re: The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
The whole boring Aubrey's dad stuff was just to get John Boyd and his dad Guy Boyd to do an episode together. Someone in this thread said they don't look like each other . . .

I'm doing the same thing. I didn't think Season 10 was all the great, but in retrospect and in comparison to S11 and S12 (so far) it was awesome.
Each week I keep thinking that the episodes can't get any worse, that they actually have to start improving, but Peterson and Collier never fail to disappoint.
The Tutor in the Tussle Episode
OK the opening convo between B&B discussing a boner is kind of juvenile! Lol but I love Booth's smile when he starts turning on Brennan's latest audiobook. Of course she wants to narrate her own book. Who would listen to that!
- John Boyd and his father look nothing alike it.
- LOL I can understand Cam's reaction to the spiders. yuk!
- Half brother? I thought the picture was of a girl.
- so now Aubrey and Karen are the new B&B interrogating suspects?
- Cam and Angela together near the end wearing sleeveless shirts! Imagine that. They don't seem to be cold without their lab coats on all the time!
- Best part of the episode! Shoulder holster alert! Hot Booth with sleeves rolled up and shoulder holsters on with cake! Yummy
- I did like the discussion that Booth had with Aubrey regarding their fathers.
-yay! More shoulder holsters!
-he called me a paycheck, waaah!
- Aubrey telling his father not to take any credit for how he turned out, reminds me of the convo Booth had with Pops regarding who raised him. Too similar of a storyline!
- so we get a scene of B&B together in their house, Booth looking hot in that black shirt. But not one touch as Brennan goes to read Christine her first novel.
