Networks : Which of the five broadcast networks do you watch the most?

Which of the five broadcast networks do you watch the most?

Note that a broadcast network is distinct from a cable network in the sense that it is broadcast on every TV, whether the person has cable or not. Hence, even those who only use antennas can get these five networks. For that reason, broadcast network television is often considered more important, because it is more far reaching.

Here are the five major broadcast networks of the US:

1] ABC
2] CBS
3] NBC
4] Fox
5] The CW

It seems like this would be a difficult question to answer, given all the viewing choices people have today. But I've personally noticed that most of the broadcast network shows I'm interested in happen to come from one network; the broadcast network shows I watch are ONCE UPON A TIME, ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND, and RESURRECTION. Coincidently, all three of the shows air on ABC.

I wonder how each of the five networks characterize themselves in order to develop such a loyal audience of the same people who keep tuning into that same network over and over? Is it a coincidence, or is it a result of branding? Well, I guess those are questions for another thread…

For now, let's just keep it simple: which broadcast network do you watch the most?

Please excuse typos/funny wording; I use speech-recognition that doesn't always recognize!

Re: Which of the five broadcast networks do you watch the most?

Well, I assume you mean "watch the most" in terms of primetime programming? Which for me would exclude late-night shows and sports, which is what i watch most on the networks anymore.

With regards to primetime, it's pretty scarce. Here's all that spring to mind.

FOX-- currently watch 24. Was watching THE FOLLOWING because it's so stupid it's fun to hate-watch.

NBC-- PARKS AND REC, COMMUNITY. Briefly watched DRACULA and HANNIBAL for a while but neither sustained my interest and I gave them up.

CW-- nothing. It's a network for kiddies who just hit puberty.

ABC-- nothing. I tuned in for a few episodes of ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND because there were some hot chicks in costumes (always a turn-on).

CBS-- nothing. I hate CBS. Every show they run is geared toward the lowest common denominator of intelligence for the average viewer. But it explains why they have such "popular" shows (that is, many viewers). CBS is the McDonalds of television networks.

I watch A LOT of commerial cable shows and HBO series these days.

Fox....

Re: Which of the five broadcast networks do you watch the most?

ABC: Once Upon A Time, Last Man Standing, 20/20, Americas Funniest Home Videos
CBS: Two And A Half Men, The Crazy Ones, Person Of Interest, Under The Dome
FOX: Cosmos
NBC: SNL, The Blacklist, Growing Up Fisher
CW: Watching anything on this network gives me a headache

Re: Which of the five broadcast networks do you watch the most?

ABC. Mostly because of Once Upon a Time.

Re: Which of the five broadcast networks do you watch the most?

Re: Which of the five broadcast networks do you watch the most?

I watch A&E the most because of Criminal Minds.

Sometimes I watch ABC Family and TV Land I like to watch re-runs.

I don't to much watch TV like I used to

Re: Which of the five broadcast networks do you watch the most?

I was enjoying BBC America and Showtime. But no cable these days, so recaps are my eyes these days. But it's nice this time of season, summer, so I can enjoy the outside and read.

Re: Which of the five broadcast networks do you watch the most?

BBC America-Doctor Who, Broadchurch, The Graham Norton Show
ABC-Once Upon a Time, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (no longer there), America's Funniest Home Video
The CW-The Originals, Reign
Fox-The Simpsons, Family Guy

Re: Which of the five broadcast networks do you watch the most?

All Networks have their proviso, which is reflected in their programming. For example, ABC shows, focus a lot on relationships; Fox: Action + fast paced; CBS: logical thinking.

I mainly watch ABC: Revenge, Once Upon A time, Marvel's Shield, Blackish, How to get Away with Murder, Secrets & Lies. Plus, ABC Family: Pretty Little Liars, Baby daddy and Young & Hungry.

Re: Which of the five broadcast networks do you watch the most?

I don't bother too much with network anymore. I did watch 24's latest stand alone season and Wayward Pines limited series (which I won't be watching if they return for a S2 sans Matt Dillon ).
So I guess Fox.

I mostly watch AMC, FX, HBO, Starz, Showtime, BBCAmerica and I just started Mr Robot on USA. When you start watching really consistently well written series that are usually given a chance it's just impossible to go back.

Network is not to be trusted. If they have a rare quality show then it's surely going to get cancelled. Otherwise it's congested with too many procedurals (boring), sitcoms or reality shows...and endless commercials. Most of it is good sleeping material.

Re: Which of the five broadcast networks do you watch the most?

I watch WGN-TV OTA the most, but not for its CW content. I decided to stop watching "Arrow" after the last season, and it was the only CW show that I was watching. I'm looking forward to the return of "Manhattan", which is a WGN America production. Since I just moved back to Chicago, I'm not sure if I'll be able to watch it on WGN-TV or the WGN superstation.

Youtube.

Re: Which of the five broadcast networks do you watch the most?

I love your reply, I watch a lot of youtube also.

Re: Which of the five broadcast networks do you watch the most?

I watch quite a bit of CBS, esp. the NCIS-verse, along with Madame Secretary, The Good Wife, and CSI:Cyber (the last pale shadow of the CSI-verse) on Sundays, and Limitless on Tuesday. I'm waiting with bated breath for the new season of Person of Interest. My guilty pleasure, The Young and the Restless, is also on CBS. And CBS has Stephen Colbert now!

NBC - Not much, although I was watching Heroes Reborn recently while it was on. I sometimes watch Grimm, but the phony German language on that one really bugs me.

ABC - Practically nothing. I don't remember the last series I watched on that network, though it was probably the remake of V.

Fox - not really. About all I'm watching right now is Gotham.

The CW - likewise. The Flash, sometimes Arrow, and I'll probably catch The 100 if and when it comes back.

PBS was not on your list, but since it's a broadcast network, it should be. I watch more on the two PBS stations I get (along with their several subchannels) than anything else. With six channels all together, there's usually something at least passable on one of them! Tonight it was Alaskan bears, Roman catacombs, and Leonardo da Vinci.

In my area, Cozi TV, Antenna TV, Laff, and This TV are subchannels of the local broadcast channels, and I watch those pretty often.

Re: Which of the five broadcast networks do you watch the most?

ABC - 6% 4%
CBS -70% 52%
NBC -12% 9%
FOX- 0% 0%
CW- 12% 9%
other na 26%

looking to ad some with the new season...CBSx2, NBCx1,CWx1.
