The Big Bang Theory : Would you trust Stuart with your child?
Re: Would you trust Stuart with your child?
Probably not.

Re: Would you trust Stuart with your child?
Nope. Not Raj either!
Re: Would you trust Stuart with your child?
Yup.. can't stand the little bastard.

Re: Would you trust Stuart with your child?
I wouldn't even trust Stuart with my comics. The fire happened because of his admitted negligence. Lesson learned? I doubt it. We're talking about Stuart.
Re: Would you trust Stuart with your child?
I would. Howard and Bernedette saw that he did a good job taking care of Howard's mother when she wasn't doing well. They apparently saw a different side to him that we don't see in the episodes. I think he would be a good nanny. It is the competition between Raj and Stewart that makes things more difficult. Raj is the one I would trust least, honestly.

I wouldn't
Why not?

The guy admitted to watching them sleep.
He has an apparent history of sucidal ideation
He creepily returned to the home after he has left it.
His whole history with Howard's mom and then his attempt to have a relationship with Howard's cousin, why would Howard trust that weirdo even to be in the house with his daughter?

Howard and Bernadette would certainly find Stewart watching them sleep creepy, but in my watching Stewart watch them, it is more like him watching over them.
Yes, those are strange but I do not see anything dangerous in them. Stewart wants a family, and he tries to create a family where ever he can.

They hit it off and they get along. What is the problem?
His whole history with Howard's mom
What is strange about that? She seems to like Stewart and that is not the usual reaction that he gets.
and then his attempt to have a relationship with Howard's cousin,
Where do you have any reason to believe that Stewart is irresponsible or dangerous?

I would. I think that he is much more practical and reliable than Raj and than Howard for that matter.
I wouldn't

Re: Would you trust Stuart with your child?
Sure. He has a good heart. He would never deliberately hurt anyone or anything. Why not?
Re: Would you trust Stuart with your child?
He's done enough to earn the level of trust of a family member by this point, And that's how Bernie and Howard veiw it.
I think we would feel the same if we spent the amount of time they've spent with him; the time we don't see since these episodes are merely snapshots.

Re: Would you trust Stuart with your child?
I would. Stuart is weird, but there's never been any reason to believe he would hurt anyone. He did a good job taking care of Howard's mom, and unlike Howard himself, Stuart is always willing to pitch in and do his part. I would personally be more worried about Howard. I don't think he'd ever hurt his daughter, but I could easily see him sitting there getting caught up in video games and ignoring her. The only genuine concern I've heard is the fact that Stuart has expressed suicidal idealiation in the past, but that's been awhile. Also it's probably a side effect of some sort of mental disorder, probably depression, and the fact is if about 40% Americans suffer from depression at some point in their lives, a lot of these are probably good parents, and I am sure the vast majority of them would not killed themselves while taking care of a child. I am sure if Stuart were depressed to that point Howard and Bernadette would have probably noticed so I am thinking it's not an issue.

I think you are rightI don't see him as a danger to himself or others.
After all, he wasn't depressed while taking care of Mrs. W. The Elder; in fact, he was always in high spirits. It was as if (Comic Book Store aside) he had found his true calling.
I think the same goes for taking care of Mistress W. I think her 'care-and-feeding fulfills one of his main needsthe need to feel that he IS needed.
Also, it's easy to see that Stuart is a very caring person; and I think (as do Howard and Bernie) that his "Unclehood" role suits him perfectly.
The only problem I foresee is that maybe it will come to a point where Lil Miss (same as her grandmother) starts to prefer spending time with Stuart rather than with Howard.

Re: Would you trust Stuart with your child?
I don't have any children, but if I did I imagine Stuart could do a better job of taking care of them than I could.
Re: Would you trust Stuart with your child?
Yes, he is desperate to please, so he would do the best job available. As with Howard's mom, he has an urge to care for someone and be a trusted person for the family.
