Watchmen : The film gives away all of the story's twists (spoilers)

Veidt is obviously the killer in the opening murder of The Comedian ... just so the film can have a fight scene. In the comic, you can't tell who is fighting The Comedian because his murder is only shown is a fragmented flashback.

When Rorscharch is searching The Comedians wardrobe, we see a framed picture of Laurie. Once again, not in the comic, where the reveal of her being his daughter is a key twist towards the end of the story.

These are just a couple of examples. This film really felt like Zack Snyder was in love with the comics art (which is good but quite plain) but had no idea how to adapt the writing.

Not only that, but Veidt's portrayal just screams "Villain!"

You are sin.

I've never been a huge fan of Dave Gibbons' art (the best I've seen him is probably his work on Alan Moore's For the Man Who Has Everything). I'm only talking about his actual drawing style here; his page/panel layout on Watchmen is obviously very clever and his general attention to background detail is fantastic. But overall, if I see Gibbons' name on something my enthusiasm tends to drop a little.
