Santa Clarita Diet : Barrymore looks off?

Idk if it's just me after episode one I feel she looked a lot different to the point where I felt like it wasn't her.

I'm wondering if she was/is pregnant while shooting these episodes. To me, she looks pregnant, and they're trying to hide it. If it's not that, then she's still got a stomach from her last two pregnancies, and they're trying to disguise that. Otherwise, I think she looks great, and the same as ever, pretty much. She's aging really well. She's my age (early to mid 40's), but doesn't look old at all, still has an attractive, rounded out face, no sunken features or noticeable wrinkles or laugh lines. She doesn't look my age, lol. Just pregnant, and in some scenes, she doesn't wear much makeup, and looks a bit plain, so maybe the scenes where she's not wearing a lot of makeup are the ones that make you feel as if she doesn't look as much like 'her'. But my bet is that she's pregnant, and her stomach grew (and it became much more noticeable that they were taking measures with her clothing and camera angles to hide it) after episode one. I didn't notice it much in the first episode, but by episode 3-4, to me, she looks like she's really growing a larger belly.

It's the atrocious acting. Anybody doing a screen test like this would be sent packing.

I thought the same thing. Almost quit watching. But she looks more herself as the show goes on. I honestly think it starts off that way because she's supposed to more like a "prude" or "lame". But once she starts "changing" she starts to look like the Drew we know in real life and the show itself even gets better.

I wondered that myself. But at the same time it was refreshing to see someone who looked like a regular person.

I haven't seen beyond the first episode, so I wasn't sure.

Not saying whether I agree or disagree with you but this is exactly the kind of judgmental post which people have brought up in regard to Friday's closure announcement.

No it's not. Grow up. People are allowed to have their opinions. It's people being truly nasty, and vulgar.

That may be, but if you've been following people affiliated with the movie industry on Twitter (celebrities, directors, producers, etc), you'll notice how elated all of them were about the closure.
Many even cited judgmental examples of users criticising their physical appearances.

it would have been easy for the imdb to get the forum to be more civil. the hardcore offenders aren't actually such a large crowd, they are just as always the loudest. IP ban the worst ones and you will have 400% improvement immediately.

Sorry for the late reply. The one person whom I remembered posting her thoughts on the closure was Justine Bateman. Unfortunately, she's an active tweeter which makes the process of backtracking to her tweets last week Friday quite an ordeal. If you have the stamina to keep clicking, please give it a go.

I just kept thinking it was a slightly younger version of Renee Russo. Except for the weird way her mouth only seems to work on one side of her face like a stroke victim it just seems like a odd Renee Russo clone.

Frankly I'm think she's had too much plastic surgery.

I can't believe people are saying she has aged well ! She has not, and she looks crazy, and is also an amazingly poor actress. She is just living on her family name and former roles. Its not that I dislike her at all, its just that her awful looks and acting are really something that has made me stop watching the show after two episodes.
