Lotta art movies ha? That's not bad. However, I can't handle with them.

Re: Your All Time Top 5?

Lol, yeah, I guess. Idk guess those are just the movies I like.

Not sure what you mean by "I can't handle with them."

Re: Your All Time Top 5?

I mean, there aren't easy to watch. I respect them, just not for my taste, at least for now.

Re: Your All Time Top 5?

Lol, yeah, I could see how a 7 1/2 hour Hungarian film could be hard to watch for some, but I love it!

1. Inception
2. The Dark Knight
3. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
4. Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

Re: Your All Time Top 5?

Pop culture is not always bad. There are well-known movies, most of are made for profit. (I mean 1,2,3) They got still quality but aren't so rich.

Re: Your All Time Top 5?

There is only ten movies i gave a 10/10 out of the 2,025+ total movies i have seen and it would be hard to split that in half so ill just name the ten movies instead, which are (IN NO ORDER)...

-Lord of War (2005)
-Open Range (2003)
-Road to Perdition (2002)
-Training Day (2001)

Re: Your All Time Top 5?

Leone is a bloody genius. I'm suprised to see someone "really" likes Open Range. I mean it's a pretty good modern western. However, expactations are high especially after seen Costner's Dances With Wolves. I prefer that one.

Re: Your All Time Top 5?

No order:

1. The Godfather (1972)
2. The Dark Knight (2008)
3. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
4. Goodfellas (1990)
5. Se7en (1995)

Re: Your All Time Top 5?

The Godfather is probably the best directed movie I've ever seen. It's just perfect.

Re: Your All Time Top 5?

Agreed. Arguably the best ending to a movie, with the closing of the door and acceptance of Michael as Don Corleone, followed by the fade to black.

2. Godfather Pt 2 - 1974 (Francis Ford Coppola)

Re: Your All Time Top 5?

The Blues Brothers ranks #8 on my Top 10 list! One of my favorite comedies of all time.

Top 5 is REALLY hard to make; I struggled for a long time just to narrow down to a Top 10, but here goes:
5. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
4. The Empire Strikes Back
3. Die Hard
2. Back to the Future
1. Dazed and Confused (favorite movie of all time).

Seems like a pretty typical, obvious list I guess, but I just love these films.

Star Wars
The Abyss
Jaws
Aliens

Re: Your All Time Top 5?

Die Hard (1988)
Back to the Future (1985)

Re: Your All Time Top 5?

I've got over 100 movies rated 10. I've been doing top lists recently and ranking movies with same score first by IMDb score and then by number of votes if there's still a tie. Anyway my basic list using these rules looks pretty cliche like most of the other lists in this thread:
1.The Dark Knight
2.Psycho
3.Rear Window
4.Citizen Kane
5.Double Indemnity.

A wacky alternative list, the lowest rated films I've given 10 to is as follows
1.The Scarecrow 5.6
2.Bruno 5.8
3.Rock of Ages 5.9
4.Die Another Day 6.1
5.Death Race 2000 6.2

If you cull The Scarecrow because it's a barely known 1982 film from my home country New Zealand then the next one on my "lowest rated 10s" list is the Jack Nicholson horror film from 1994, Wolf (6.2).

Probably the closest I get to perfection is the original Terminator but I'm too lazy to rate my preferences one by one with so many 10s and so many miniscule differences between preferences to choose from. If I wanted to do an exact ranking I'd have to develop a scoring system out of a million (to minimize the chance of two getting the same) then I'd need to watch them all again and do a precise analysis of everything, it would need to be so exacting it would drain all the fun out of watching.

(followed very closely by Kiss Kiss Bang Bang)
