One I'd love to see myself is the original pilot episode of the sitcom 'Barney Miller', that starred Hal Linden, but had Abby Dalton playing his wife, instead of Barbara Barrie. As far as I know it only ran once on a program called 'ABC Summer Showcase' (where it ran under the full title of 'The Life and Times of Captain Barney Miller of the NYPD') before being picked up later by ABC as a series.

I've never been able to find this anywhere, and don't know if any recorded version of it even still exists.

The original pilot, The Life and Times of Barney Miller, was included in the Barney Miller: Complete Series Set. It's in the bonus features on the last disk of the Barney Miller section of the set, Season 8, Disk 3. The set also includes the first season of Fish.

Oh, and it was Barbara Barrie, not Barbara Harris, that played his wife. Barbara Harris was the mother in the original Freaky Friday.

Late reply, but thanks very much for the information! And I caught my Harris/Barrie goof; just edited it a couple of minutes ago.

Re: lookin for pilots, cancelled shows and mini-series recommendations

One of your lists is TWENTY ONE PAGES!! ( ) but I did search through your tv series list as it's two pages, hopefully I didn't miss anything there, but from the looks of what you like I think you'd really enjoy DEAD LIKE ME if you haven't seen it yet:: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0348913/?ref_=nv_sr_1, about a girl who comes back as a grim reaper -- very well acted and has Mandy Patinkin (currently on Homeland) as well as the BBC series IN THE FLESH: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2480514/. I'm not a zombie movie fan except for SHAUN OF THE DEAD ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365748/) partly because of Simon Pegg, one of my favourite UK actors and all round amazing comic actor, and to a lesser extent ZombieLand ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1156398/?ref_=nv_sr_1 ). This has only had one season (three episodes, like Sherlock) but IN THE FLESH is a very different kind of series, very hard to describe, though from your lists and the BBC and UK content I wonder if maybe you've already seen it? It isn't a cancelled show but really deserves a watch. I really loved THE BORGIAS http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1582457/, it was on for two seasons and recently cancelled unfortunately. Again, sorry I didn't have the patience to read through your other list. Hope this gives you at least one you haven't seen yet! I know your post is a bit old now but I just came across it. Be

If you haven't got "The Middleman"(2008) and "Defying Gravity" (2009) on there already. Also I second "Rubicon."

"Lights Out" - Holt McAlaney, Stacy Keach, Pablo Schrieber, Meredith Hagner, Ryan Shanne, Lily Pilblad - Warren Leight (show runner).
