The Cheetah Girls 2 : For you geniuses who think Raven's costumes are ugly…

Ok, why don't you all take the time to do some research.

When it comes to the movie business, NO ONE dresses their actors badly. I can not think of one movie where an actor is dressed badly unless they are required.

Go ahead and learn something for a change. Go and see what Spanish fashion is like. Spanish fashion is VERY excentric with lots of unique designs and flowing dresses. If you notice, their costumes get a more Spanish influence as the movie progresses and they learn to "feel" the rhythm of Barcelona. All their costumes were dead-on to what models in Spain wear.

Disney is not an idiot and they do know how to do research. People like you all have to learn to put more faith in Disney. While they have produced many flops, most of the time, they will belt out good movies.

Also, how else do you think new fashions come into the world? Magic? No, people have to experiment with fashion if new fashions are to be discovered.

Why are people so empty-headed?

Obviously you're wrong cuz Raven WAS definitely dressed ugly! HA! And about the whole Spain fashion thing, none of the other's wore ugly outfits, and they were dressed in Spain outfits too!

Raven's clothes were ok, it was just that last scene that was horrible.

I didn't think Galleria's outift at the end was bad, it's just that hers was a lot different than the other ones. The other cheetahs all looked like they did at the beginning of the movie.

She dressed cute! She just wore the least sluttiest outfits of the group. But yeah, I LOVED the outfit she was wearing when she was about to go home at the air port. She looked gorgeous. And I agree, lots of people are empty headed.
And yeah, it makes sense that Disney actually DOES come up with a lot of good stuff. I mean even if they DO come up with some flops every so often, they don't do anything cheap. After all, they are rich up the ***.

There are two problems that I have:

1. Not all fashion is wearable. Just because something looks great on a runway or in a professional fashion spread does not mean that it'll look good on a day-to-day basis or for a performance. Some outfits just aren't realistic (or even possible) to wear in a day-to-day reality.

2. Good fashion, especially custom fashion, will flatter you. It will accentuate your good points and downplay your bad points. Some of Raven's costumes just didn't do that. Draping her in yards of fabric just doesn't work with her figure and stature. In fact, it's something that very rarely works on anyone.

I'm not arguing with the tone or overall style of the clothing, but rather with the incredibly poor execution of it.

BUT i disagree when you said that it includes concert performances..A performance is where a singer can go BUCK WILD if they wanted. Its an all out DRESS UP hour for real. Now If i saw Britney Spears walkin down the street wit her child in a black cat-suit(that she wore @ her Toxic concert) i'd say wowif Kelly, from Destiny's Child walkin around in some short shorts and a half top wit a glitter strap goin down her belly wit above knee top stilleto heels, i'd think she was a freaky freak.lol
AND if i saw Raven walkin down the BLUV wit dat Spain red outfit wit dat hat ecti'd.well i'd hug her and kiss her for one thing BUT THEN I'll take her to a store n changelol

Finally, someone who can freakin' understand the way those outfits were supposed to be. I mean, Sabrina was wearing a damn jean jacket, for God's sake.

um they might not try to dress thm bad, but it is. not to be mean but raven got really big and when she wore that robe, she looked like a monster! i was about to die. and her last outfit with the black and red, omg!!!!!!!!! it made a look like a ig fat burnt cheeseburger!!

they were not ugly. she just looks fat in them. I mean when they were at that party do's love interest invited them to. that read tunic looked awful on her. she looks like a vault or a chest. she needs to be on a diet cuz she can sing.

Im not gonna lie Im a big girl too but they did raven wrong. The things she was wearing were not flattering on her. The robes and the big pants she wore at the end made her look extremely obese. I thought they could of had dressed her better. Disney is rich, they could had gotten the designers from Torrid to work with her and Toccara( Americas next top model cicle 3) to give fashion advises cause that girl knows how to dress. They could of had made her a costume with spanish influence but that looked good on her.

i agree w/ you. the circle thing around her head was like half of a hat i mean do the whole thing or nothing at all. i know she might be a little bigger than the rest of those girls and couldn't really pull off what they were wearing but what she wore was just waaaaayyyyyy too much. i still love raven and i think she has an amazing voice but C'MON

get me a pic of anything that looks like what raven wore cause Ive been looking at tratitional spanish wear and I cant find anything like that. They should of had made her a flamenco dress. I liked the matador thing on chanel though.

i think that the outfit is ok for formal clothes, but compared to everyone else it just stuck out. I liked Sabrina's outfit; it was something you can where a lot.

In "Thats So Raven" you must admit she wears absolutely awful clothes with the worst accessories imaginable that dont look like they even fit - even my appearance conscious daughters have the same opinion -. Is this because i am a dad who has to watch Disney Channel all day because of my 3 daughters and 1 son and hate this punishment. Even though discussions on the subject, in my house, have revealed a great admiration for Chelsea and her look.

i think raven and chelsea look fine i mean would you rather they look like sluts on television? we already have enough of those

I hate how so many Disney and Ravens fans have to defend everything that people disagree with aspects of these horrible movies. Why don't you watch one of the originals?

Her Last Outfit was beautiful, Yes There were better ones through out the movie but hers was the most beautiful between the 4 at the end. Just because her hat had a hole in it doesn't make it ugly it makes it Fashion. If you look on the runways there are tons of hats like that.

I'm from Barcelona, and I have to say that ANYONE here dresses that way.

Spanish fashion is not that excentric. The "torero" jacket Chanel and Angel (don't remember the actors' names) wear at the final song, this kind of skirt Raven wears then too, the hats, the "flowing" dresses that's not an example of the fashion here in Barcelona.

It's like I made a movie about someone who lives in New York and everybody there wears cowboy hats and they only dance country music and carry around their cowboy boots it's not a "New York thing". The way they picture Barcelona is just a clich: people dress like that in Andalucia, another region, and just dancers, toreros and musician, not just everyone. The flamenco music and dancing is not something you can find in the streets in Barcelona.

I agree with you leticiajimenez, I'm from Barcelona too, and those clothes aren't that usual in hereThose clothes that leticiajimenez says, are variables of "traditional" clothes (the "torero" and the "sevillanas" dresses) of SPAIN not from BARCELONA. In Spain, anyone dresses like that, only in special dates, and specially in Andalucia as leticiajimenez said.And, by the way, I think they don't were dressed with Barcelona's clothes. Maybe Kiely was, because her clothes were the most usual here. But Raven's, Adrienne's and Sabrina's definetly were not.
By the way, I think it's not Raven's fault (the thing of how she was dressed). There are Costume Designers in all the movies. If their fashion sense is another than our, it's not Raven's falut. She only got dressed by another.

I cna't believe I am discussing this, but I had to sit through this entire film and found it horrible (not my kind of film, but since I was watching with my nieces).

Anyway, to get to the topic, the costumes of the final act were horrible. Some of them were a bit "acceptable" but Raven's costume made me think of Locomia, a Spanish band of the 80's (www.locomia.com) with 4 guys dressed in strange costumes, dancing with huge fans

And it always gets on my nerves that people only relate Spain (when they can picture where it is, you wold be surprised of how often people place it in Mexico) with bull fighting and flamenco I know their costumes were intended to play with the traditional flamenco dresses and all, but it would have had a better effect if they had placed the action in Seville instead of Barcelona, and stoped calling it Barcelona's fashion

Well, some of Raven's outfits did look REALLY bad for her and she did look fat in that last costume at the end. They could have given her better, more form fitting clothes to wear. Like when she was at the Train station. She never looked obese in any of the outfits, but fat in the last one. And she's not really a "big girl", but she could just lose a few pounds, or more importantly wear better revealing clothes.

1. I'm not an idiot, okay. I'm sure you think you're the smartest person in the world, but NEWSFLASH, just because someone doesn't agree with your opinion, as wrong as you might think other people are, it gives you no right to call them stupid.

2. I didn't think her outfit was hideous, but I didn't like it. It wasn't flattering at all, and the "hat" had a hole at the top where her hair came out and it looked just really bad. She just really stuck out, and not in a good way. It's not because she's bigger (not fat, just bigger) than the other girls, that doesn't matter, and I don't really care about that, agreeing with someone's earlier post, she DID sort of look like a pimp. She had the wide pants, and the long jacket, and the hat.

All their outfits were nice and unique, I loved Chanel's the best though.
