The Wicker Man : What if we do live in a matriarchy but….

What if we do live in a matriarchy but….

instead of it being as obvious. Instead the government, of which 53% of the electorate is female and of which has the most important lobbyists, just taxes men disproportionately and creates absurd laws that benefit women greatly. Then when someone brings it up they say it's ridiculous because most men are in Congress etc?

What if we are in a matriarchy after all and the men in power don't represent men at all.

Re: What if we do live in a matriarchy but….

Wow, it's pretty impressive how utterly wrong you are on every point you just made. The secondary sexual ratio in the US is actually 1.05 man to woman or in real world terms there are 1000 males for every 995 women or again 50.5% male to females 49.5%. In all honesty though a fairly moot point because even if you were right that's still only a very slight population edge.

The most important lobbyists? Are you high? Here's just some of the most powerful lobbies in the US:

The NRA
The Tech Lobby
The Mining Industry
Agriculture
Defence

Do any of them really strike you as bastions of feminism? At a real push you could probably say the Tech Lobby is more gender neutral, the rest are heavily stacked in males favour.

Tax men disproportionately? Taxation isn't done by gender anywhere in the US, that's ridiculous. Also what are these absurd laws? There are some laws that benefit women more than men, such as sexual discrimination laws, though it still technically applies equally, but only someone incredibly ignorant and stupid could think they were ah I understand now.

Re: What if we do live in a matriarchy but….

If you're worried about being the victim of systematic discrimination on the basis of your gender only it's so subtle that it could only have been done by women then relax. That seriously isn't happening.

Re: What if we do live in a matriarchy but….

Basically if you're a white man and this movie has opened your eyes to the fact that barriers on the basis of things like gender exist, you should take a deep breath and think about how it took an insanely bad movie by a mad person to make you even think about the relationship between your gender and society. If you've got a sister and/or a mother, ask her/them about whether your "secret matriarchy" hypothesis is viable.

Re: What if we do live in a matriarchy but….

Wow, you actually bought into this terrible film's subtext of feminine hatred? Are you afraid of beeing (get it) lured to the isle of honey-harvesting lesbos for purposes of mating and ritualized sacrificial murder?

Your post is delusional; we most definitely live in a patriarchal and misogynist society where irrational fear of women is prevalent (how else do you explain this hilariously bad movie getting the production go ahead?).

Re: What if we do live in a matriarchy but….

Easy there drama queen. I can't seem to find ANY "feminine hatred" in OP's question. Perhaps you are grasping for straws???
