The Wicker Man : Is there a big chunk missing from the last scene?
Re: Is there a big chunk missing from the last scene?
The actual video footage of the bee-pouring and leg-breaking has been taken out of some versions, with, as you say, the audio of Malus yelling being matched with the footage of the strange island people carrying him in a blanket.
I think in that edition you get a weird scene at the end with some cops on the pull in a bar.
Re: Is there a big chunk missing from the last scene?
The version I saw ended with the burning of the wickerman. Didn't have the 6 months later scene with Willow and another islander talking to policemen. I believe that scene is included the theater version.
Re: Is there a big chunk missing from the last scene?
Oh I see. Sounds like they want to cut the bee-anointment footage out of all versions then. Shame as that's the best bit in this wonderful film.
Re: Is there a big chunk missing from the last scene?
YEAH i was looking for this too, as I distinctly remember it as the funniest scene in the movie. I recall laughing for 10 minutes straight when I first saw it. What version of the film is that comedic gold in?
Re: Is there a big chunk missing from the last scene?
I couldn't give you the definitive answer there law and psych as someone reported seeing a version in which *both* the bee-anointment and the "six months later" alternative ending had been cut. If you do see a version with the alternative ending the chances are the bees will be missing out on their big scene.
Re: Is there a big chunk missing from the last scene?
("Oh god! My leg! You broke my leg! Aaaaagh! There goes the other one; you broke BOTH of my legs! Aaaaagh!)
Hahaha, pure Cage-gold! It's hilarious.

The original PG-13 theatrical cut does not show the pouring of the bees on Nic Cage's facein that version they cut away and you will hear "OW! MY LEG!!" The theatrical version ends in a bar with James Franco.
The Unrated DVD version shows you the intended pouring of the bees on Nic Cage's face scene and ends with him dying.
I saw this in the theater. The "Ow My Leg" line had my dying.

Ha ha ha, sadly not. That was just me being silly.
Is there a big chunk missing from the last scene?
When the big twist is revealed and the villagers all pile on top of Cage, is there a big chunk cut out of the movie? The camera sort of pans away and there's a bunch of over-the-top sound-effects and a voice-over of Cage explaining what is happening ("Oh god! My leg! You broke my leg! Aaaaagh! There goes the other one; you broke BOTH of my legs! Aaaaagh!) and then in the next shot he's covered in bee stings. Did the bees break his legs or is there a missing scene where the villagers stab him with bees?
